Advanced method: hide the date picker for products with certain tags

Hide the scheduling widget on products that carry specific tags — for items that should never be scheduled (e.g., digital goods, gift cards, services).

Available on all plans.

Overview

The Advanced tab in Fulfillment schedule lets you list product tags. When a product carries one of those tags, the date picker is hidden for it — useful for products that don't need delivery/pickup scheduling at all.

This hides the widget for tagged products only; everything else is unaffected.

Before you start

  • The products you want to exclude carry a recognizable Shopify tag (e.g., no-schedule, digital).

How to set it up

Here's how, step by step:

Step 1: Open the Advanced tab

Go to Fulfillment schedule → Advanced.

Step 2: Add the tags to hide

Type a product tag and add it. Repeat for each tag whose products should not show the widget. Remove a tag anytime to re-show the widget for it.

Step 3: Save

Save your changes. Products with those tags no longer show the date picker.

How it looks on the storefront

Products carrying a listed tag display without the scheduling widget; other products keep it.

Common scenarios

Digital products / gift cards

Tag them (e.g., digital) and add the tag here so no schedule is requested.

Services or pre-orders handled elsewhere

Hide the widget for products you fulfill outside the normal schedule.

Temporary exclusion

Add a tag during a period, remove it later to bring the widget back.

Tips & Best practices

Use a single clear tag like no-schedule across all products that shouldn't show the picker — it's easier to manage than many specific tags.

This is the opposite of Product availability: availability scopes which products a rule applies to; this hides the widget entirely for tagged products.

Troubleshooting

The widget still shows on a tagged product?

Confirm the product actually carries the exact tag and you saved the Advanced settings; refresh the storefront.

I want to hide by collection, not tag?

This feature uses tags — add the relevant tag to those products, or use Product availability for rule-level scoping.

FAQ

Does hiding the widget remove scheduling from past orders?

No — it only affects what new customers see on tagged products.

How do I revert?

Remove the tag from the Advanced list and save.
