# Build Base pricing from closed quotes

# Build Base pricing from closed quotes

Build pricing from closed quotes turns the prices you agreed with a company in the [QS Request a Quote, Hide Price app](https://apps.shopify.com/request-for-quote-by-omega) into Base pricing in the B2B app. The company then reorders at the agreed prices without a new quote.

The app reads the company's quotes with the **Deal Closed** status and lists every quoted product with its agreed price. You choose which products to include, adjust prices if needed, and either create a new Base pricing or add the prices to one the company already uses.

Each quoted price is saved as a Product price override, so it takes precedence over the Pricing rules in that Base pricing. Your original product prices in Shopify don't change.

## When to use Build pricing from closed quotes

Use Build pricing from closed quotes when a company has agreed to prices through a quote and should keep getting those prices on future orders.

For example, you can:

* Turn a negotiated quote into a contract price list for that company.
* Collect the agreed prices from all of a company's closed quotes into one Base pricing.
* Add newly agreed prices to a Base pricing the company already uses.

If you want to set prices by hand or with Pricing rules instead, create a Base pricing directly. See Create and assign Base pricing.

## Before you start

Make sure that:

* The [QS Request a Quote, Hide Price app](https://apps.shopify.com/request-for-quote-by-omega) is installed on your store. Closed quotes come from this app.
* The company has at least one quote with the **Deal Closed** status.
* Each product you want to add has a quoted price in that quote.

Only closed quotes are used. Quotes with any other status, such as Negotiating or Deal Rejected, are not included.

If a quote line has no quoted price yet, that product is skipped. Finish pricing the quote in the QS Request a Quote, Hide Price app first.

## Where to start

You can build pricing from either:

* A specific Company, using all of its closed quotes
* A single closed quote

Both entry points open the same **Build pricing from closed quotes** window. The difference is which quotes the prices come from.

### Build from a Company

Use this method when you want to collect agreed prices from all of a company's closed quotes.

1. Go to B2B Companies.
2. Open the company you want to manage.
3. Find the Base pricing section.
4. Click **Import quote pricing**.

If the company has no Base pricing yet, the same button appears in the empty Base pricing section.

The window lists products from every closed quote of the company. If a product appears in more than one closed quote, the most recently closed quote is used.

### Turn a single quote into pricing

Use this method when you've just closed a deal and want to save that quote's prices.

1. Go to B2B Companies.
2. Open the company.
3. Open the **Quotes** tab.

![](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/-/8/3/8/3/8383e5404a31c000/image_9mjb4k.png)

4. Open a quote with the **Deal Closed** status.
5. Click **Turn into pricing**.

![](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/-/8/3/8/3/8383e5404a31c000/image_1vr54wj.png)

The window lists only the products from that quote. **Turn into pricing** appears only on quotes with the Deal Closed status.

## When a product appears in several quotes

The app uses the price from the most recently closed quote for each product.

For example, Product A was quoted twice:

| Quote | Closed | Quoted price |
| ----- | ------ | ------------ |
| #1042 | March 3 | $85 |
| #1057 | May 12 | $80 |

Quote #1057 is more recent, so Product A is listed at $80.

## Review the prices

Each row shows one quoted product, with the prices you need to compare before saving.

![](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/-/8/3/8/3/8383e5404a31c000/image_1cox0qa.png)

| Column | What it shows |
| ------ | ------------- |
| Product | Product name |
| Shopify | The product's price in Shopify |
| Quoted | The price agreed in the closed quote |
| Current | What the company pays now from its current B2B pricing. "—" means no B2B price is set yet |
| Price to save | The price that will be saved. Defaults to the quoted price and can be edited |
| Margin | Your margin at the Price to save. Shows **below cost** in red when the price is lower than cost |
| Source | The quote the price came from. Click it to open that quote |

For example, Product A:

| Shopify | Quoted | Current | Price to save |
| ------- | ------ | ------- | ------------- |
| $100 | $80 | $90 | $80 |

The company pays $90 today from its current pricing. After you save, it pays the agreed $80, as long as the Base pricing you save to is checked first. See [how quote prices work with your other pricing](#2-how-quote-prices-work-with-your-other-pricing).

## Choose which products to include

All quoted products are selected when the window opens. Only selected products are saved.

To narrow the list:

* Untick products you don't want to add.

![](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/-/8/3/8/3/8383e5404a31c000/image_1kk0qq4.png)

* Search by product name or SKU.

![](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/-/8/3/8/3/8383e5404a31c000/image_19uyjkm.png)

* Sort by product name, or by quoted price from low to high or high to low.

![](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/-/8/3/8/3/8383e5404a31c000/image_1kw6j2u.png)

Your selection is kept while you search or sort.

![](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/-/8/3/8/3/8383e5404a31c000/image_1me9i6x.png)

To change a price, edit it in **Price to save**. The Quoted price stays as a reference, and Margin updates as you type.

For example, the quote agreed $80, but you want to round it to $79.99. Enter $79.99 in Price to save. The company receives $79.99.

You need at least one selected product with a price above $0 to continue.

## Choose where to save the prices

Use **Add to** at the bottom of the window to choose where the prices go. By default, the company's first Base pricing is selected. If the company has none, Create a new base pricing is selected.

You can choose:

| Option | What happens | Button |
| ------ | ------------ | ------ |
| Create a new base pricing… | Opens a new Base pricing with the selected prices, ready to review | Create base pricing |
| An existing Base pricing | Adds the selected prices to that Base pricing | Add prices |

Existing options list every Base pricing this company uses.

Each existing option also shows who it's assigned to:

* The company name, when it's assigned to this company
* Multiple companies, when other companies use it too

### Create a new Base pricing from quotes

Use this option when you want the quoted prices kept separate from the company's other pricing.

1. In **Add to**, select **Create a new base pricing…**.

![](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/-/8/3/8/3/8383e5404a31c000/image_1rottwq.png)

2. Click **Create base pricing**.
3. The Base pricing editor opens, already filled in:
   * **Name**: the company name followed by "from closed quotes".
   * **Priority**: 1, so it's checked before the company's other Base pricing.
   * **Products**: only the selected products, each with its Price to save as a Product price override.
4. Rename the pricing or change the Priority if needed.
5. Review the resulting prices.
6. Click **Create pricing**.

The new Base pricing covers only the quoted products. Every other product keeps the price from the company's existing pricing.

Nothing is saved until you click Create pricing in the editor.

### Add to an existing Base pricing

Use this option when the company already has a Base pricing that should include the agreed prices.

1. In **Add to**, select the Base pricing.
2. Check the note under the field. It names who gets these prices, for example: "Adds these prices to Contract pricing, so Acme Supply gets them."
3. Click **Add prices**.

![](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/-/8/3/8/3/8383e5404a31c000/image_gno4ad.png)

Each selected product is added to that Base pricing as a Product price override. If the product already has an override there, it's replaced with the new price. The Base pricing's Priority, Pricing rules, and other products don't change.

## How quote prices work with your other pricing

Quoted prices follow the same order as any other Base pricing:

Base pricing Priority → Product price override → First matching Pricing rule → Next Base pricing → Shopify price

Because quoted prices are saved as Product price overrides, they take precedence over Pricing rules in the same Base pricing. Priority still decides which Base pricing is checked first.

### Example: New Base pricing from quotes

Suppose Product A has a Shopify price of $100 and was quoted at $80.

The company has these Base pricing configurations:

| Base pricing | Priority | Price for Product A |
| ------------ | -------- | ------------------- |
| Acme Supply from closed quotes | 1 | Override: $80 |
| Standard wholesale | 10 | Rule: 10% off → $90 |

The app checks Acme Supply from closed quotes first because it has Priority 1. It finds the $80 override.

$100 → Product price override → $80

Final Base price: $80

Product B wasn't quoted, so the new Base pricing doesn't provide a price for it. The app continues to Standard wholesale, and Product B gets 10% off.

### Example: Added to a lower-priority Base pricing

Suppose you add the $80 price to Standard wholesale (Priority 10), but the company also has Contract pricing at Priority 1 with Product A at $85.

The app checks Contract pricing first and uses $85. The $80 quoted price is not used.

In this case, change the Priority, or create a new Base pricing from the quotes instead.

## If no products appear

| Message | Why | What to do |
| ------- | --- | ---------- |
| Install QS Request a Quote, Hide Price | The QS Request a Quote, Hide Price app isn't installed on your store | Click **Install app**, then collect and close quotes in that app |
| No products to add | The company has no closed quotes with quoted prices | Click **Open RFQ app** and check the quote statuses and prices |

## Next steps

After building pricing from closed quotes, you can:

* Use **Preview prices** on the company to check what buyers now pay.
* Change Base pricing Priority so the quoted prices are checked first.
* Edit Product price overrides when you agree new prices.
* Create Quantity pricing for quantity-based prices on top of the quoted Base price.
