# Customizing Your Blocking Page with HTML

## Overview
The Blocking Page is what visitors see when Blockify Fraud Filter blocks their access to your store. You can customize the **Description** and **Title** fields using basic HTML — line breaks, bold text, and clickable links — so your message is clearer than a single block of plain text.
HTML works in both the **Description** and **Title** fields, but we recommend using it mainly in the **Description** field. The **Title** field is limited to **64 characters** — and HTML tags count toward that limit — so there is very little room for markup there. The **Description** field allows up to **256 characters**.

## Best Practices

* **Tell visitors why they're seeing this page.** A vague message makes legitimate customers think your store is broken.
* **Always give them a way to contact you.** Some blocked visitors are real customers caught by a rule. A support link lets them reach you instead of leaving.
* **Keep it short.** Two or three sentences is enough.
* **Don't reveal which rule blocked them.** That tells bad actors how to work around your protection.

### Example

```
Access to this store is currently restricted.<br>
<b>If you think this is a mistake, please contact us.</b>
```

## Step-by-Step Guide

**Step 1:** Go to **Blockify Fraud Filter** in your Shopify admin.
**Step 2:** Navigate to **Settings** → **Blocking page** → **Edit template**

**Step 3:** Open the **Style** tab.
**Step 4:** In the **Style** tab you'll see two sections — **Title** and **Description** — each with its own **Text** box. Enter your message in the **Text** box.

**Step 5:** Click **Save**.
**Step 6:** Open your store from a blocked IP or test rule to confirm the page looks the way you expect.

## Supported HTML Tags

If your HTML doesn't render, check that you're only using the supported tags above and that every tag is closed properly — `<b>text</b>`, not `<b>text`.
Any tag or attribute that isn't in the list above — including inline `style` — is removed automatically. To change the text color, use the **Color** option next to each field instead of inline styles.

## Note: Hiding the Blinking Cursor (Pixel template)

If you use the **Pixel** blocking template, you'll see a small **blinking underscore ( _ )** at the end of your description text. This is an intentional typewriter-style effect that comes with the Pixel design.
To hide it:
1. On the **Blocking page** screen, open the **Custom CSS** tab (next to the **Style** tab).
2. Add the rule below on its own line. Put it at the **end** of any code already in the box, and make sure it is **outside** every other `{ }` block:

```
#blockify-block-text-blink { display: none; }
```
3. Click **Save**.
The blinking cursor will no longer appear on your blocking page.
