# Generate regex patterns with AI

#### Generate regex patterns with AI
> **Tip — start your description with an action word matching the tab you're on.** This ensures the AI generates a pattern that fits your rule type:
> * **Block** tab → start with "Block" or equivalent words: stop, prevent, deny, ban (e.g., *"Block SEO ahref bots"*)
> * **Redirect** tab → start with "Redirect" or equivalent words: send, route, forward (e.g., *"Redirect all AI crawlers to homepage"*)
> * **Whitelist** tab → start with "Allow" or equivalent words: permit, whitelist, accept (e.g., *"Allow Googlebot and Bingbot"*)

**How to use:**
1. After selecting **Regex** as the Type, click the **Generate with AI** icon (✨) on the right side of the "Regex pattern" input.
2. In the panel, describe the bots, browsers, or traffic you want the rule to match (see the tip above for how to phrase your description).
3. Click **Generate**. Blockify will show you:
    * The generated **regex pattern** with a copy icon so you can copy it anywhere.
    * A **What this rule does** explanation in plain English.
    * **Sample user agents** tagged as **Matched** (green) or **Not matched**, so you can see how the rule behaves on real examples.
    * A **Test your rule** input where you can paste any User-Agent string to verify the match.
4. If the result isn't quite right, click **Regenerate** to try again.
5. When you're satisfied, click **Use this rule** — the generated pattern is automatically filled into the Regex pattern field above. You can still edit it by hand before saving.

> **Note:** You can generate up to **10 times per day**. The daily limit resets 24 hours after your first generation of the day.
