# How to create ChatGPT Ads Conversions API Key

**Learn how to create the Conversions API key that allows TagFly to send server-side events to ChatGPT Ads.**

> **Before you start:** You need a Data Source (Pixel ID) first. See [How to find your ChatGPT Ads Pixel ID](https://help.omegatheme.com/en/article/how-to-find-your-chatgpt-ads-pixel-id-un6exv/)

#### Step 1: Open Conversion keys

* Sign in to your [**ChatGPT Ads Manager**](https://ads.openai.com) account.

* Navigate to **Sidebar** > **Conversions**.

* Click **Conversion keys** icon in the top-right corner.

#### Step 2: Create a new key

* 2.1. Click **+ Create new key**

* 2.2. Enter a name for the key (e.g., “TagFly”), then click **Create**

* 2.3. **Copy** the key immediately and **store** it somewhere safe or download into your local device

###### For security reasons, OpenAI will only show you the full secret key once. If you lose it, you’ll need to create a new one.

#### Step 3: Paste the key into TagFly

* In TagFly, open the **ChatGPT Ads** channel and paste the key into the **Conversions API Key** field.

* Click **Test connection** to see if your ChatGPT Ads account has been successfully connected

* 
  * If connected: Click Next step to proceed with the remaining settings

  * If your connection is rejected
    * Review the **Important Note** below and check your Pixel ID và Conversion API key again
    * Or contact TagFly support team via the icon on the bottom left of your setting screen. We shall provide instant support

**Important note**
* Use the **Conversions API key**, not an Ads/Advertiser API key from your account settings. These are different keys, and the wrong one will cause events to be rejected.
* The Pixel ID and the API key must come from the **same ChatGPT Ads account**.
* Treat the key like a password. Don’t share it publicly.
