# How to grant required access in Google Analytics

Server-side events cannot be sent to Google Analytics 4 without a Measurement Protocol API Secret. If the connected account lacks the required permissions, the API Secret cannot be created and events will fail.

### Required Google Analytics role
The Google account connected to TagFly must have **one of the following roles**:
* **Administrator**
* **Editor**
||| ⚠️ Any other role will prevent Measurement Protocol API Secret creation.

This guide shows you how to **check and grant the correct Google Analytics access**:
# Step 1: Open Account access management in Google Analytics

# Step 2: Check the role of the connected account
1. In the user list, find the Google account that is connected to TagFly
2. Check the **Roles and data restrictions** column
3. If the role is **not** Administrator or Editor, go the **Step 3**

# Step 3: Grant Administrator or Editor role
1. Click the account email
2. A **Direct roles** window will appear
3. Select **Administrator** or **Editor**
4. Click **Save**
