# Quote checkout extension

# 1. Introduction

The Quote Checkout Extension allows merchants to add a Request for Quote (RFQ) button directly on the Shopify Checkout page. This gives customers the option to request a quote instead of completing payment at checkout.

# 2. Quote checkout extension

When the Quote Checkout Extension is enabled:
* A Request for Quote button appears on the Checkout page.
* Button position and appearance are managed entirely from Shopify settings, not from the app.

* Clicking the RFQ button redirects customers to the Quote page.
* Product details are pulled from the Checkout page and shown on the Quote page.
* Taxes, shipping, and discounts must be configured in the app if you want them to be reflected on the Quote page.

|| ⚠️ Important: This feature works independently from the Quote Button feature.

If customers have items in their cart and click the RFQ button at checkout:
* The cart will be cleared
* The quote will be created based on the products shown on the Checkout page

Regarding the quote page, the form in the quote page displayed depends on the user’s status: B2B users will see the B2B form, while DTC users will see the DTC form.
