# Require Return All Items from BOGO/Bundle Deals

## Overview 

In Synctrack Returns, the **Require Return All Items from BOGO/Bundle Deals** feature ensures that customers must return all items from a promotional discount (BOGO or Bundle) together. Partial returns from these promotional orders are not permitted, helping merchants maintain the integrity of their discount promotions and prevent abuse.

This feature addresses a common merchant concern: customers purchasing items under promotional discounts (like "Buy 2 Get 1 Free" or bundle deals) and then returning only the items they paid full price for while keeping the discounted/free items. 

## Requirement to use the feature 

1. Create a discount in your Shopify Admin using one of the following discount types:
    * **Buy X Get Y** (e.g., "Buy 2 Get 1 Free", "Buy 1 Get 1 50% Off")
    * **Amount off products** (e.g., "Bundle: Save $20 when buying these 3 items")
2. Configure your discount rules according to your promotion requirements
3. When customers make a purchase that satisfies the discount conditions, the discount is automatically applied at checkout

## How to enable Require Return All Items from BOGO/Bundle Deals?

* Go to the Settings > Policies 
* Enable the Require Return All Items from BOGO/Bundle Deals section

## How it works?
When a customer initiates a return through your Synctrack return portal:
1. **Discount Detection**: The system automatically identifies orders containing Shopify discounts (Buy X Get Y or Amount off products)
2. **Item Selection**: all the products from BOGO combo will be put into one box and your customer need to return all products from combo with the same return reason.

These two rules solve the same problem from opposite ends, and they don't overlap.
* **This rule** prevents the partial return from happening at all — the shopper must return the whole bundle together. It works for both *Buy X Get Y* and *Amount off products* deals.
* **Item discount distribution for returns** allows the partial return, then recalculates the refund so the kept items lose a discount they no longer qualify for. It covers *Amount off products* deals with a minimum-quantity condition — **not** *Buy X Get Y*.
If this rule is on, a partial BOGO return is blocked before any refund is calculated, so *Item discount distribution* never comes into play. For *Buy X Get Y* deals specifically, this rule is currently the only protection available.
