# Reserve stock on request for exchange

## Overview 

In Synctrack Returns, merchant can set up exchange advance rules to optimize the exchange workflow. The **“Reserve stock on request”** feature allows the system to hold inventory as soon as a customer submits an **exchange request**, before the request is approved. This stock is immediately deducted once the customer submits the request to reduce the risks of our of stock exchange products.

## How to enable Reserve stock on request for exchange?
### Go to Settings > Configuration 
* Tick checkbox "Reserve stock on request for exchange" 
* Click "Save"

## How it works?
Assume:
* Product A has 5**0 units** in stock.
* Customer submits an exchange request for **1 unit**.
