# Show the pickup search bar

# Show the pickup search bar

Add a search bar to the pickup map so customers can quickly search for and find a pickup location — ideal when you have many stores.

|| Available on all plans. Lives under **Integrations → Google Map** (part of the pickup map).

## Overview

When the pickup map is enabled, **Show pickup search bar** displays a search box so customers can type to find a pickup location instead of scrolling the full list. It pairs well with [Auto-detect nearest pickup](#).

|| This only adds a search box — it doesn't change which locations are available.

## Before you start

* You have pickup locations set up — see [Manage your locations](#).
* **Google Map is enabled** with an API key — see [Google Maps API](#).

## How to enable it

Here's how, step by step:

### Step 1: Open the Google Map integration

Go to **Settings → Integrations → Google Map**.

### Step 2: Turn on "Show pickup search bar"

Tick **Show pickup search bar** — "Display a search bar so customers can search for pickup locations." Save.

## How it looks on the storefront

A search box appears above the pickup location list; customers type to filter/find their preferred pickup point.

## Common scenarios

### Many pickup locations

A search bar saves customers from scrolling a long list to find a store.

### City/area search

Customers search by area to locate the nearest convenient pickup point.

### Pair with nearest-pickup

Combine with [Auto-detect nearest pickup](#) so the closest locations are pre-sorted and searchable.

## Configuration options

| Option | Description | Notes |
| ---- |
| Show pickup search bar | Adds a search box to the pickup map | Requires Google Map enabled |

## Tips & Best practices

|| Turn this on once you have more than a handful of pickup locations — for one or two stores a search bar adds little.

| Combine with [Auto-detect nearest pickup](#) for the smoothest "find my store" experience.

## Troubleshooting

### The search bar doesn't appear?

Confirm Google Map is enabled with a valid API key and the **Show pickup search bar** option is on and saved.

### Search returns nothing?

Check that your locations have accurate addresses so they can be matched.

## FAQ

### Does the search bar limit which locations show?

No — it only helps customers find a location; all your pickup locations remain available.

### How do I turn it off?

Untick **Show pickup search bar** under Integrations → Google Map.
