# Welcome Wizard: turn the cookie notice into a proper welcome
Most consent banners interrupt a visitor before they've even seen your site. The **Welcome Wizard** takes the opposite approach: it greets the visitor first, then asks for their cookie choice on a second, calmer screen. Privacy becomes part of the first impression instead of an obstacle in front of it.

### How it works
The flow has two screens over a blurred backdrop of your site:

**Welcome** → **Cookie choice**

Two dots show progress, and a back arrow lets visitors return to the previous screen.

###### Screen 1 — Welcome
A short, friendly greeting before any cookie language appears: an optional hero illustration with your logo, your own title and subtitle, and a single **Get started** button. Both text fields are fully editable, so the banner opens in your brand voice.

###### Screen 2 — The cookie choice
You decide how much detail visitors get by picking one of three content styles:

| **Style** | **What the visitor sees** | **Best for** |
| **Simple** | A message and one-tap buttons — Accept, Reject, plus Preferences if you enable it | Speed and conversion |
| **Categories** | The same, plus four inline category toggles | Granular choice on a single screen |
| **Preferences** | A full category list with descriptions and an optional per-cookie table | Maximum transparency, GDPR-style depth |

Necessary cookies are always locked on; everything else starts off, so nothing is pre-consented on your visitor's behalf. On the Simple and Categories styles, a *Peferences* link opens the full granular list for anyone who wants it.

### Two container styles
The Welcome Wizard runs in either a **fullscreen overlay** or a **centered card** modal — you can fine-tune the **Banner width (%)** to make the banner wider or more compact.
