Introduction to Settings

The Settings tab allows you to configure key options for the Blockify Records & Replay app to suit your store’s needs. This section is divided into two main parts: General and Activity. Below is a step-by-step guide to help you understand and manage these settings effectively.

A. General Settings

1. App Status

This toggle switch allows you to enable or disable the Blockify app.
When enabled, the app actively records visitor sessions and collects data.
When disabled, all recording and tracking activities are paused, and no new data will be collected.
Use this option if you want to temporarily stop session recording without uninstalling the app.
How to use:
Navigate to the Settings tab.
Find the App Status option under the General section.
Click the toggle to turn the app On or Off.
Changes are saved automatically.

B. Activity Settings

The Activity settings help you control which visits and sessions are recorded, allowing you to exclude certain traffic to keep your data clean and relevant.

1. Exclude My Visit

Enable this option to exclude your own visits as the store owner or admin from being recorded.
This prevents your personal browsing and testing activities from affecting your analytics data.
How to use:
In the Activity section, check the box labeled Exclude my visit.
Once enabled, your visits will no longer be tracked by the app.

2. Exclude Specific IP Addresses or Ranges

Use this feature to exclude traffic from specific IP addresses or IP ranges (CIDR notation).
This is useful for filtering out internal traffic, office networks, or any other unwanted sources.
How to use:
Enter the IP address or CIDR range you want to exclude in the provided input field.
You can add multiple entries separated by commas or line breaks. Example: 192.168.1.1, 10.0.0.0/24
Save your changes to apply the exclusions.

3. Exclude Specific Countries

Exclude visits originating from certain countries to focus your data on relevant markets.
This can help reduce noise from regions where you don’t operate or market.
How to use:
Select one or more countries from the dropdown or multi-select list.
The app will ignore all visits coming from the selected countries.
Save your settings to activate this filter.

Tips for Using Settings Effectively
Exclude your own visits to avoid skewed data caused by testing or maintenance.
Use IP exclusions to filter out internal traffic from your office or development team.
Excluding countries can help you focus on your target audience and improve the accuracy of your analytics.
Remember to toggle the app status off if you need to pause data collection temporarily.
