How to disable or remove a Facebook pixel from your Shopify store

When you setup your Facebook account in Facebook channel on Shopify, a Facebook pixel can be added, then you need to remove this pixel code on Shopify if you have added the same pixel ID in Facebook Multi Pixels app. If you don't remove the pixel code, then your store will have more than one pixel on it, which can result in duplicate or incorrect data in your reports.

There are 3 possibilities you added the pixel ID on Shopify, please check your case and remove it:

||| #1. You added same pixel ID in Shopify Facebook Channel.

There are two ways you can do around it:

Disconnect Facebook Pixel ID

Step 1: Go to your Shopify admin > Facebook > Continue setup

Step 2: Disconnect the pixel that is the same ID as our app

Step 3: Click Data sharing section and disable it

If you do not use the Facebook channel anymore, you can delete the app on your Shopify app store

Simply go to your Shopify admin > Apps > Click **Delete ** button to remove the Facebook app from your store.

IOS 14.5 enforcement will affect the way advertisement tracks data. Especially, Apple shows a hostile attitude toward Facebook by limiting the key private parameters which Pixel can get. 96% of users opt-out of the option to let other apps track personal data. It severely impacts the efficiency of market campaigns and optimization in the future due to unreliable Pixels. However, Facebook Conversions API (or CAPI) solution directly responds to the decreased reliability of the Facebook pixel (more on that later) and offers more control over what data is being sent to Facebook. The API allows you to send events to the Facebook Ads platform directly without having to rely on browser pixel tracking.

It’s possible that you will see this type of warning in your Events Manager Diagnostic section: ISSUE Your server is sending an invalid ipaddress, useragent parameters value for your PageView/ Add to Cart/ View Content/ Init Checkout event. This may be because there was an error in the parameter value. This may cause issues with the attribution and delivery optimization of ad campaigns that are using this event. This error can be triggered by a very limited number of events when the script can’t identify correctly some of the required data keys. We are still trying to understand when and why this issue happens. One hypothesis is that the events are triggered by a web crawler, not a real user. There are no reasons to worry about it, you can click to **Ignore ** the error.

For Page View, ViewContent, AddtoCart, InitCheckout events, pixel is tracking for all visitors If the customers do not have information (email, phone…) so pixel cannot send customer information to Facebook, so there is a warning, it is no problem. If the customer logs in, the app still sends all the information to Facebook. This is normal Only clients who are tracked by CAPI have this warning, so no problem. All Pixel apps including Shopify are doing the same

This pixel is not pair with a catalog error

If you see the warning about the catalog when checking with Facebook Pixel Helper. Don't worry, it appears when your pixel is not connected with you product catalog. Just a few steps to pair your pixel with your catalog.

There are 2 ways to pair pixel with a catalog:

From Facebook business settings

From Facebook commerce manager

Go to Catalog tab in Commerce manager
Select Events tab
Then click Connect to Tracking button to open the window
Turn on tracking option with pixels you want
Then save it
