What Is Session Replay?

Session replay is a video-like playback of a visitor’s actions on your website. It captures every click, scroll, mouse movement, page navigation, and interaction, enabling you to watch the visitor’s journey step-by-step. Unlike traditional analytics, which provide numbers and charts, replay shows you the actual experience from the visitor’s perspective.

How to Access and Use Replay

Step 1: From the Blockify app dashboard, go to the Records tab where all recorded sessions are listed

Step 2: Find the Session You Want to Replay

Browse the list of recorded sessions displayed.
Use the search bar or filters to narrow down sessions by:
Date or time range
Visitor profile or ID
Session outcome (e.g., purchase, abandoned cart, browsing only)
Select the session that you want to watch by clicking on it.

Step 3: Load and Play the Session Replay

After clicking a session, the replay player will open.
The session will load and begin playing automatically.
Watch the visitor’s screen activity as it happened in real time.

Step 4: Use Playback Controls to Navigate the Replay

Play / Pause: Click the play button to start or pause the replay at any time.
Fast Forward / Rewind: Use the forward and backward buttons to skip through the session.
Timeline Bar: Click or drag along the timeline to jump to specific moments in the session.
Adjust Speed: Change the playback speed to slow down for detailed review or speed up for quick scanning.

Step 5: Review Session Details

While watching, check the session metadata displayed alongside the replay, including:
Visitor’s device type (desktop, mobile, tablet)
Browser and operating system used
Visitor’s location (city, country)
Total session duration
Session outcome (purchase, abandoned cart, browsing only)

Step 6: Analyze and Take Action

Observe visitor behavior to identify:
Points where visitors hesitate or get stuck
Navigation patterns and product interest
Issues causing cart abandonment or checkout drop-off
Use these insights to improve your site’s usability, optimize conversion funnels, and enhance customer experience.
