[WIX] Omega Instagram Feed: Publish first widget on Wix site

Before you begin

Use this checklist before installing or connecting an account. It avoids most setup interruptions.


Why it matters

A Wix site with edit access

You need access to the Wix Editor and the site dashboard to install the app, add its element, and publish

An Instagram professional account

A Business or Creator account is required for the account connection and access to eligible Instagram media.

Meta access when using Meta for Business (if any)

You must be able to sign in to Meta and select the Facebook Page connected to the intended Instagram account.

Wix Stores and products (if using product tags)

The products you want to feature should already be active and available in your Wix catalog.

Build a storefront feed in one of six layouts: Carousel, Grid, Stacked, Hierarchical, Highlight, or Collage.
Attach products to a media item so visitors can move from content to product discovery.
Use manual sync for control or auto-sync for recurring updates to selected live widgets.
Review feed engagement and product signals in Analytics.

Create one draft widget and check it on desktop and mobile.

Install Wix Instagram Feed

Install the app from the Wix App Market. Wix’s current installation flow lets you add apps from the site editor or dashboard; the desktop editor is the most reliable place to finish adding a visual app element.

  1. Go to Wix app market, then search for Omega Instagram Feed

  1. Agree & add app to the site you wish
  2. Go to the app dashboard first

Hover into WIX on the top left and Go to Dashboard
The app is installed correctly here. Enter it and start onboarding flow.


Steps to publish widgets to Wix storefront

1. Connect Instagram

We offer 2 methods of importing. Use the method that matches how your business is organized.

Instagram connection

You want to authenticate directly with an Instagram professional account.

Sign in, approve the requested permissions, then choose the account to use.

Meta for Business

Your Instagram account is linked to a Facebook Page and you manage content through Meta.

Sign in to Meta, select the connected Facebook Page, then choose the Instagram media to import.


  1. Connect your Instagram account

Click Connect & agree to authorize the app

  1. Select the media you want to create widget from

Tick the checkbox to add, then click Next

  1. Create widgets

Fill in widget title, choose 1 type of display, switch between Desktop & Mobile to preview your feed. Then click Next to continue.

  1. Publish widget

Follow the below steps to publish

  • Open Wix Editor, click Add to Site (if you haven't added yet)

  • Click Add section in any place you want to publish the widgets

  • Add elements >> Add app widgets

  • Fill in widget ID

Click into the block -> Click Settings -> fill in the widget ID provided from the app previously. Once filled in, widget is shown immediately as below

  • Design more if you wish, then click Publish

  • Go to your live Wix site and check. The widget is published successfully.
