Sidekick Integration

TagFly integrates with Sidekick, Shopify's AI assistant. You can ask Sidekick questions about your pixel health, events sent to ad channels, and failed events — and get answers right inside Shopify Admin, without opening the TagFly app.
This is especially useful when you're in the middle of other work in Admin and want a quick tracking check, or when you suspect something is wrong and need a fast answer before digging deeper.

Availability

  • Available to all stores with TagFly installed, on every plan.
  • No setup required — the integration works automatically once TagFly is installed.
  • Sidekick must be available in your Shopify Admin (Sidekick availability is controlled by Shopify, not TagFly).

What you can ask

Sidekick supports three types of questions about your TagFly data. You don't need to phrase them exactly as shown — Sidekick understands natural language, so ask the way you'd ask a colleague.

  1. Check your pixel health

Example questions: "Are my pixels working?" "Is my tracking set up correctly?" "Any problems with my pixel setup?"

Sidekick returns:

  • Your overall tracking status — a quick verdict on whether tracking is healthy.
  • Your three health scores, the same ones shown on TagFly's Pixel Health page:
    • Setup — whether your pixels and channels are configured correctly.
    • Delivery — whether events are reaching your ad channels successfully.
    • Data quality — whether the events being sent contain complete, well-formed data (e.g., customer parameters, values, currencies).
  • The most critical issues detected, so you know what to fix first. The number of issues shown depends on your plan — see Pixel health issues follow your plan's limits.

  1. Check events sent to your ad channels

Example questions: "How many purchases did Facebook receive last week?" "How many Add to Cart events went to TikTok yesterday?" "How many events did I send to Google Ads this month?"

Sidekick returns the number of events successfully delivered to your channels. You can narrow the answer by:

  • Channel — e.g., Facebook, Google, TikTok.
  • Event type — e.g., Purchase, Add to Cart, Begin Checkout, Page View.
  • Date range — e.g., yesterday, last week, a specific date range.

These numbers match the statistics in your TagFly dashboard for the same filters.

  1. Check failing events

Example questions: "Are any of my events failing?" "Did any events fail to send in the last 24 hours?" "Why are my Facebook events failing?"

Sidekick returns:

  • The number of failed events in the last 24 hours.
  • A breakdown by channel, so you can see which destination is affected.
  • The failure reason for each — the same error details shown in the error column on TagFly's Realtime Dashboard.

This is the fastest way to confirm (or rule out) a delivery problem when something looks off in your ad platform's numbers.

How to use it

  • Open Sidekick in your Shopify Admin.
  • Ask your question in natural language — for example, "Are my pixels working?"
  • Read the answer directly in the chat. Answers typically appear in under a second and match the numbers on your TagFly dashboard.
  • To see full details, click the link in Sidekick's answer — it opens the relevant Pixel Health or Realtime Dashboard page in TagFly.

Good to know

Statistics may lag up to ~1 day

Event counts are aggregated daily, so very recent numbers can be incomplete. When this happens, Sidekick will tell you the data is not yet complete — this does not mean your tracking is broken.

  • If you ask about today's events and the number looks low, it's most likely aggregation lag, not lost tracking.
  • For up-to-the-minute event data, check the Realtime Dashboard in TagFly, which shows events as they happen.
  • Pixel health status is not affected by this lag.

Pixel health issues follow your plan's limits

The list of detected issues shown by Sidekick matches exactly what you see in the app:

Plan

Issues shown in Sidekick's answer

Grow

Up to 5 top issues, ranked by severity

Basic

Preview of the top issue, plus the total issue count and a link to view the full list in TagFly

Free

Demo

If you're on Free or Basic and want to see every detected issue with details, upgrade to Growth or open the link in Sidekick's answer to view what's available in your plan.

Sidekick is read-only

Sidekick reports on your tracking data but doesn't change anything. It can't edit your pixel setup, re-send failed events, or modify your configuration. To fix issues or adjust settings, open the TagFly app — Sidekick's answers include a direct link to the right page.

Answers match your dashboard

Sidekick's numbers come from the same data source as your TagFly dashboard, with the same filters applied. If you open the linked page, you should see the same figures.

Troubleshooting

  1. Sidekick doesn't answer questions about my tracking. Confirm TagFly is installed and you've opened the app at least once. If Sidekick still doesn't recognize tracking questions, try rephrasing closer to the examples above (mention "pixels", "events", or a channel name).
  2. Sidekick says my data is incomplete. This is expected for very recent time ranges — statistics aggregate daily and can lag up to ~1 day. Check the Realtime Dashboard for live data, or ask again the next day for finalized numbers.
  3. The numbers from Sidekick don't match my dashboard. They're designed to match exactly. First, confirm you're comparing the same channel, event type, and date range. If the mismatch persists, contact TagFly support with screenshots of both the Sidekick answer and the dashboard view.
  4. The numbers from Sidekick don't match my ad platform (Facebook / Google / TikTok). This is a different comparison: TagFly reports what was sent; ad platforms report what they attributed, after their own deduplication and processing. Some difference is normal. Use the failing-events question ("Are any of my events failing?") to check whether delivery problems explain a larger gap.
  5. I only see 1 issue in my pixel health answer. Issue visibility follows your TagFly plan, the same as in the app. Free sees a demo, Basic sees a preview of the top issue; Growth sees up to 5.

FAQ

  1. Do I need to enable anything for this to work? No. If TagFly is installed, Sidekick can answer questions about your tracking data right away.
  2. Does this cost extra or count against my plan limits? No. The Sidekick integration is included on all plans at no extra cost.
  3. Can Sidekick fix my tracking issues? No — Sidekick is read-only. It tells you what's wrong and links you to the right page in TagFly, where you can make changes.
  4. Which channels does this cover? All channels you've connected in TagFly. Event counts and failure breakdowns are reported per channel.
  5. Can I ask about a custom date range? Yes, for event statistics — e.g., "How many purchases did Facebook receive between July 1 and July 15?". Failing-event questions cover the last 24 hours.
  6. Does Sidekick see my customer data? Sidekick answers with aggregated statistics (counts, scores, statuses, error reasons) — the same summary-level data shown on your TagFly dashboard.
  7. What if I ask something outside these three topics? Sidekick handles TagFly questions about pixel health, delivered events, and failing events. Other TagFly questions may not be supported yet — open the TagFly app for anything else.
