Use a Shopify Market as your redirect destination

Redirect to Shopify Market

When you create a Redirect rule in Blockify Checkout, you can now choose to redirect visitors to a Shopify Market instead of typing a full URL by hand. This makes setup faster, avoids typos, and keeps your rules in sync whenever you update market settings in Shopify.

This guide explains how the destination picker works and applies to all 7 Redirect rule types:

  • Redirect IP Address
  • Redirect Location
  • Redirect Products
  • Redirect User Agent
  • Redirect Specific Page
  • Redirect ISP
  • Redirect Referrer URL

What's New

Previously, every Redirect rule required you to type or paste the destination URL manually. Now, when you set up a redirect, you'll see a Redirect to section with two options:

  • Shopify Market — pick from your existing Shopify Markets in a dropdown. The destination URL is pulled from Shopify automatically.
  • External URL — type any URL manually (the original behavior, unchanged).

The Rule summary sidebar also shows which destination type you picked, so you can tell at a glance how the rule is set up.

How to Redirect to a Shopify Market

This is the recommended option if you've already set up Markets in your Shopify admin.

Step 1: Go to the Block & Re-director screen, switch to the Redirect tab, and pick one of the rule types (IP Address, Location, Products, User Agent, Specific Page, ISP, or Referrer URL) to start creating a rule.

Step 2: In the Redirect to section, select Shopify Market.

Step 3: Click the Pick a market dropdown. You'll see all Markets configured in your Shopify admin, each with its name and full URL.

Step 4: Choose the market you want to redirect blocked visitors to.

Step 5: (Optional) In the Path field, enter a sub-path that will be appended to the market URL — for example /products/example-product. Leave this blank to redirect to the market's homepage.

Note: The path must start with /. If you leave it blank, visitors land on the market homepage.

Step 5: Check the Preview card to confirm the final redirect URL looks correct.

Step 6: Fill in the remaining fields for your rule (condition, displayed name, etc.) and save.

After the rule is created, the market name will appear as a tag in your rule list so you can quickly identify which market each rule redirects to.

NOTE

Market unavailable status

If a market linked to one of your rules gets disabled or deleted in Shopify, Blockify will mark that rule with a red Market unavailable tag in your rule list. Visitors hitting this rule will be redirected to the homepage of your primary market as a fallback, so traffic doesn't break silently. To fix it, edit the affected rule and either pick a different market or switch to External URL.

FAQ

Q: What if I haven't set up any Markets in Shopify yet?

A: The Shopify Market option will be disabled, and you'll see a link to your Shopify admin where you can set up Markets. In the meantime, use External URL to type the destination manually.

Q: What happens if a market gets disabled or deleted in Shopify after I create a rule?

A: Blockify will detect this and show a warning next to the affected rule in your rule list. As a fallback, visitors are redirected to the homepage of your primary market so the rule doesn't break silently.

Edit the rule and pick a different market (or switch to External URL) to clear the warning.

Q: Does switching to Shopify Market break my existing rules?

A: No. Existing rules keep their current URLs as External URL. You can edit any rule and switch to Shopify Market whenever you want.

Q: Can I mix Shopify Market and External URL across different rules?

A: Yes. Each rule has its own destination setting — you can use Shopify Market for some rules and External URL for others.

Q: Where do I set up Shopify Markets?

A: In your Shopify admin under SettingsMarkets.

Q: I already have Markets set up but I don't see them in the dropdown (for stores that installed the app before this feature went live). What do I do?

A: When you open a rule, External URL is selected by default and the market list isn't synced yet. Just click the Shopify Market option — Blockify will sync with Shopify and load your markets into the dropdown to choose from.
