Understanding shipment delivery statuses
Delivery statuses help you and your customers stay informed about where an order is during its shipping journey. Synctrack automatically tracks each shipment and updates its status in real time based on information from the shipping carrier.
Common delivery statuses
Here’s what each delivery status means in Synctrack:
Status | What it means |
---|---|
Pending | Shipment created but not yet processed or picked up. |
Not found | No tracking information found (possibly invalid or not yet updated). |
Expired | Tracking hasn’t updated for at least 30 days (express) or 60 days (postal); shipment likely inactive or lost. |
Exception | Delivery issue occurred (e.g., customs hold, damaged package). |
Failed attempt | Delivery was attempted but unsuccessful (e.g., recipient not available). |
Information received | Carrier has received shipment info but hasn’t picked it up yet. |
In transit | Package is moving through the carrier’s network. |
Available for pickup | Package is at a pickup point, waiting for customer collection. |
Out for delivery | Package is with the courier and will be delivered soon. |
Delivered | Package successfully delivered to the recipient. |
What does “Pending” mean?
A Pending status means no tracking data has been provided by the carrier yet. This is common right after a label is created or an order is just handed over. We automatically re-check for updates several times a day, so you don’t have to refresh manually.
If a shipment stays Pending for too long:
- Double-check the tracking number for accuracy.
- Contact the carrier directly to verify the shipment status.
- Contact our support team if you want us to prioritize a specific shipment in our tracking queue.
When does a shipment become “Expired”?
If a shipment remains in Pending without any updates:
- After 30 days (for express services), or
- After 60 days (for postal services),
Synctrack will mark the shipment as Expired and stop tracking it. This helps keep your dashboard clean and focused on active shipments.
