🎯 Advertiser Checklist

1. Verify sending domains

Domain verification is how Meta confirms you own the store firing events to your pixel. Without it, Meta won't trust the data and certain conversion optimizations stay locked.

📝Preparation:

  • Shopify side: You need to have access to the header section of your Shopify theme, or have contact with people that do.
  • Facebook side: Your account needs to be assigned with the Admin permission to be able to verify a domain

  1. In Meta Business Settings → Brand safety → Domains, click Add and enter your store domain (no https://, no www).
  2. Choose Meta-tag verification and copy the snippet.
  3. In Shopify, edit theme.liquid and paste the snippet right after the opening <head> tag. Save.
  4. Back in Meta, click Verify domain. The badge switches to Verified within a few seconds.

Paste the verification tag to the head section of your theme

Confirm verification

Back to your BM, click verify to confirm

2. Turn on Automatic Advanced Matching

Advanced Matching sends hashed customer info — email, phone, name, IP — from the browser pixel directly to Meta. More identifiers means better matching to real Facebook users, which boosts EMQ and ad optimization.

  1. Open Meta Events Manager → your pixel → Settings.
  2. Scroll to Customer Information Parameters → Automatic Advanced Matching.
  3. Toggle it ON.
  4. Tick the parameters that actually appear on your store (email + phone are the highest-impact).
  5. Save.
