Omega InstaFeed - Auto-sync Your posts and Tagged posts to your live widgets

With Auto-sync, you can automatically bring new Instagram content into your Media Library and keep selected live widgets up to date.
You can manage two content sources separately:

  • Your posts: posts published by your connected Instagram account.
  • Tagged posts: posts where your Instagram account is tagged.

Each source has its own sync schedule, and each widget can choose which sources it should receive.

What does this feature do?

When Auto-sync is enabled, the app can:

  • Fetch new eligible posts from your connected Instagram account or tagged posts.
  • Add synced posts to your Media Library.
  • Automatically update published widgets that are configured to receive that content source.

Auto-sync does not add every new post to every widget. A widget only updates when:

  1. The relevant source is enabled in Settings.
  2. The widget has Auto-sync enabled.
  3. The widget is configured to receive that source.

⚡ Set up Auto-Sync

How Auto-sync Works

Please be noted that by default, Auto Sync is turned off.

Go to Settings > Auto-sync.
You will see two separate sections: Your posts and Tagged posts.
For each source, you can:

  • Turn Auto-sync on or off.
  • Choose a sync schedule.
  • Check the last sync time and next scheduled sync.
  • Run a manual sync when needed.

Your posts and Tagged posts run independently. For example, you can sync Your posts more frequently while checking Tagged posts once per day.

Your posts
Turn on Your posts to automatically sync new posts published by your connected Instagram account.

Tagged posts
Turn on Tagged posts to automatically sync posts where your account is tagged.
Tagged posts are turned off by default. When you turn them on for the first time, the default schedule is Every day.

Notes:

  • You can choose how often the app should sync:
    • Every 2 hours
    • Every 8 hours
    • Every day
    • Every 3 days
  • The sync runs on fixed time intervals. For example, if you set it to Every 2 hours, the app will sync at 0h, 2h, 4h, 6h, …, 22h, 24h.
  • The newest synced posts/Reels will appear directly in your Media Library table and Live widgets.

Choose content sources for each widget

Sync schedule is managed globally in Settings, but activation is controlled per widget.

After enabling a source in Settings, go to Widgets and create or edit a widget.
In the widget’s Auto-sync section, turn on Auto-sync and select the content source(s) that this widget should receive:

  • Your posts
  • Tagged posts

You can select one source or both.

For example:

  • A product-focused widget can receive only Your posts.
  • A social-proof widget can receive only Tagged posts.
  • A mixed feed can receive both sources.

The sync schedule is managed in Settings and is displayed as read-only in the widget editor.

If a source is turned off in Settings, it cannot be selected in the widget editor. Turn it on in Settings first.

After you set up successfully, sync setting status will be shown here:

🔄 Manual Sync

Manual Sync allows you to fetch the latest Instagram posts on demand from the app’s Settings page.

How Manual Sync Works

You can also sync content on demand from Settings > Auto-sync.
Choose the source you want to sync:

  • All posts
  • Your posts only
  • Tagged posts only

The app fetches the latest eligible content for the selected source and adds it to your Media Library.
After the sync is complete, widgets update only if they are configured to receive that source.
The Last synced time will be updated after a successful manual sync.

When to Use Manual Sync

  • You want full control over when new posts appear
  • You are running a campaign and don’t want automatic changes
  • You want to review content before showing it on the storefront

Frequently asked questions

Why do tagged posts not appear in my widget?

Check the following:

  1. Tagged posts are turned on in Settings > Auto-sync.
  2. The tagged post has been successfully synced into your Media Library.
  3. Auto-sync is enabled for the widget.
  4. The widget is configured to receive Tagged posts.
  5. The post meets your widget’s existing media selection or approval rules.

Can different widgets receive different types of posts?

Yes. Each widget can independently receive Your posts, Tagged posts, or both.

What happens if I turn off Tagged posts?

The app stops checking for new tagged posts automatically. Existing content already in your Media Library or widgets is not removed automatically.

What is the difference between Auto-sync and Auto-update?

Auto-sync fetches new content from Instagram into your Media Library.
Auto-update adds eligible synced content to a published widget based on the sources selected for that widget.

Can I change the sync schedule?

Yes. Go to Settings > Auto-sync and choose the schedule separately for Your posts and Tagged posts.
