Start creating a discount

To start creating a discount, you click the Add Discount button below:

1. General Information

This section defines the basic information of your discount, like discount title, reason for discount, and discount value. To start defining your discount's information, you can configure the following details:

a. Discount title

To create the discount, enter your discount title (under 20 characters) in the Discount Title field to tell the customer what the discount is for.

You can activate a discount or deactivate it by setting the Discount Status using the dropdown:
Active - the discount is activated
Inactive - the discount is deactivated

Note: If you set an end date for your discount, your discount will be automatically deactivated on its end date.

b. Reason for discount

In the Reason For Discount field, you can enter your discount reason (under 150 characters) to tell the customer why they got a discount

c. Discount value

When creating a discount, you have to choose how the discount will be calculated. You can select between the two options: Fixed amount and Percentage.

By using the Discount Value dropdown, you can choose between two options:
Fixed amount
Percentage

Tips: Choose the Fixed amount option if you want to deduct a specific currency amount from the price. Choose the Percentage option if you want the discount to scale with the order total.

Typing the discount amount based on the discount value option that you have selected

Example 1: To create a $100 discount, select the 'Fixed Amount' option and enter '100' in the 'Discount Amount' field.

Example 2: To create a 10% discount, select the 'Percentage' option and enter '10' in the 'Discount Amount' field.

If multiple discounts are applied to the same line item, the system will automatically select the discount with the highest value

2. Discount Visibility

You can set up where to show the discount by ticking the box for the preferred display visibility (you can select multiple visibilities):

Display discount reason on the Draft Order
Display discount reason on the Email
Display discount reason on the Invoice PDF
Display discount reason on the PDF

3. Schedule

In the Schedule section, you can choose when the discount should begin and optionally, when it should end by following these four steps:

Steps:

Choose your Start Date and Start Time

[Optional] If you want to have an End Date, you can tick the Enable End Date Box and edit the End Date and End Time
Note: End Date must be a date & time after Start Date

4. Discount condition setting

a. What rule will be applied?

You can choose whether to apply the discount using the Line item discount rule or the Quote discount rule

Line item discount:
If you want to apply a discount to a single product, you can choose the Line item discount option
Quote discount:
If your customer submits a quote containing multiple products, you can use the Quote discount rule to apply a discount to all products in the request, instead of creating individual discounts for each item

Line item discount

If you choose the Line item discount, you can select 2 options on which product you want to apply:

All products
Specific products

If you have many discounts on the same line item, the system will prioritise the discounts with the rule that applies to 'Specific products' rather than 'All products'

Quote discount

If you choose the Quote discount, you can select 3 options (All quotes, Quote amount, Quote quantity) on which product you want to apply:

All quotes
Quote amount:

This means that the discount will be applied if the subtotal of the submitted quote is greater than or less than the specified input value

For the quote amount, you will have two selections: Greater than and Less than

Example: To apply a discount to a submitted quote with a quote amount greater than 10, enter '10' in the field next to the 'Greater than' option

Total quantity:

This means that the discount will be applied if the total quantity of all products submitted in the quote is greater than or less than the specified input value

For the total quantity, you will have two selections: Greater than and Less than

Example: To apply a discount to a submitted quote with a total quantity greater than 10, enter '10' in the field next to the 'Greater than' option

b. Who will be eligible to apply?

You can select what type of customers are eligible to receive the applied discount.

All logged-in customers
Other
If you select Other, you will have 2 options, which are Customer type and Customer tag

For Customer type, you can only select the DTC option if you run a DTC store. However, if you operate a B2B store, you can choose both DTC and B2B options

For Customer tag, you can select 2 options between: 'Has not tag' and '*Has tag'**

c. Maximum discount usage limit

You can control how often the discount can be used by selecting these two options: '**One-time uses'** and '**Always, depending on the discount period'**

One-time uses: The discount can only be applied once per customer.
Always, depending on the discount period: The discount can be used as many times as needed, but only during the set time frame.
