Full-screen banner Consentik Wix
Full-screen banner with blurred background
Overview
Full-screen banner is a display option for the Center banner layout. When it is turned on, the cookie banner appears as a centered window that covers the full screen, sitting on top of a blurred background that blocks interaction with the rest of the page.
This option is designed for maximum visibility: visitors cannot scroll past or ignore the banner, so they must respond to it before they continue browsing your site. The feature is optional and is available only for the Center layout on the latest banner version.

How it works
When Full-screen banner is enabled and your banner uses the Center layout, the banner is displayed in the middle of the screen and spread to fill the whole viewport.
- The rest of the page is covered by a blurred, dimmed overlay that blocks interaction.
- Page scrolling is locked while the banner is open, so visitors stay focused on the banner.
- Visitors must use one of the banner buttons — Accept, Dismiss, or Preferences — to continue.
- Clicking the blurred background does nothing; the banner stays open.
- Closing the banner with the ESC key is not supported.
- As soon as the visitor completes a consent action, the overlay is removed and scrolling is restored.
Full-screen banner works on both desktop and mobile. On smaller screens, the banner stays centered and the page remains scroll-locked until the visitor responds.
Supported layouts
Full-screen banner is available for:
- The Center layout, on sites using the latest banner version.
The option is not available for:
- Full-Width Top, Full-Width Bottom, Corner, or Sidebar layouts.
- Sites still using an older banner version.
If you switch from Center to any other layout, the Full-screen banner option disappears and the banner is displayed in its normal (non-full-screen) form.
What happens when you enable it
When Full-screen banner is turned on, the system automatically applies a few related changes so the experience works correctly:
- Block Interaction is turned on. The blurred, click-blocking background is required so visitors are kept on the banner.
- The "Banner width" slider is hidden, because the banner now spans the full screen.
- Auto-collapse on Scroll is turned off, because Full-screen banner and Auto-collapse on Scroll cannot run at the same time.
- The blur and opacity of the background are taken from your existing Block Interaction settings.
These changes are applied automatically when you enable Full-screen banner, but they are not automatically reverted when you turn it off. If you turn Full-screen banner off, Block Interaction stays on until you turn it off yourself.
Background appearance
The blur strength and opacity of the background are controlled by the existing Block Interaction sliders.
Adjust those sliders to change how strongly the page behind the banner is blurred and dimmed. The same values are reused whether you set them before or after enabling Full-screen banner, so your background always looks consistent.
Visitor experience
When a visitor arrives on your site:
- The banner opens centered, on top of a blurred and dimmed page.
- The visitor cannot scroll the page or interact with anything behind the banner.
- The visitor responds using the banner buttons (Accept, Dismiss, or Preferences). Clicking the background has no effect.
- Once the visitor responds, the overlay disappears, scrolling is restored, and they can browse your site normally.
This keeps the consent step clear and unmissable while still letting the visitor continue as soon as they make a choice.
Important limitations
- Plan availability. Full-screen banner requires the Advanced plan — the same plan as Block Interaction. On the Free or Plus plans, the option is shown but locked, with a prompt to upgrade.
- Cannot be combined with Auto-collapse on Scroll. The two features are mutually exclusive; turning Full-screen banner on turns Auto-collapse on Scroll off.
- Center layout only. Full-screen banner applies only to the Center layout. On any other layout the setting is ignored, even if it was turned on earlier.
- Standard banner only. Full-screen banner applies to the standard cookie banner and does not affect the TCF banner.
