How can I preview my Checkout & Post - Purchased Components before publishing?
1. What is Testing mode?
Testing mode allows you to preview your components — such as banners, custom messages, or upsell offers — directly inside the Checkout Editor or Post-purchase Editor.
It’s designed for visual preview only, so you can see exactly how each component will appear before it goes live.
2. Can I still set up conditions while using Testing mode?
Yes. You can configure conditions (for cart, product, customer, etc.) as usual —
but they won’t actually run in Testing mode.
This mode focuses purely on the visual part of your components, so you can adjust layout and content freely without affecting checkout logic.
3. Why can’t I preview my components with certain conditions?
The Checkout Editor doesn’t load real cart or order data,
so conditions like Cart total, Products in cart, or Customer tags can’t be triggered there.
Testing mode solves this by showing your components visually regardless of those conditions — perfect for reviewing design and placement.
4. Is Testing mode available on all plans?
✅ Yes! Testing mode is available for all merchants — including Free and Basic plans.
It’s the easiest way to preview your checkout components before publishing them live.
5. Why can’t I enable Testing mode for an active component?
Testing mode is available only when the component status is Draft.
Once a component is Active, it’s already live on your checkout — so preview mode is turned off to avoid confusion.
👉 To test visually, simply change the status back to Draft.
6. Does Testing mode affect my live checkout?
No. It’s completely safe.
Anything you see in Testing mode is for preview only — it doesn’t affect your customers or live checkout logic.
7. How to use Testing mode effectively
- Create or edit your component.
- Switch its display condition to Testing mode.
- Open the Checkout Editor or Post-purchase Editor → you’ll see your component appear visually.
- Adjust styling, copy, or layout until satisfied.
- Change the display condition back to your real condition and activate the component.
8. Why it’s especially useful for Free/Basic plan users
Merchants on Free or Basic plans can’t test checkout interactions with real orders,
so Testing mode gives you a safe, visual sandbox to preview your components before publishing.
You can confidently design and fine-tune how your checkout will look — even without advanced testing access.
✅ In short
Testing mode = Visual preview for your components before going live.
Perfect for Free/Basic plan merchants who want to see exactly how their checkout experience will look.
