Refund to Discount Code

Overview

Refund to Discount code allows merchants to offer refunds as a code, helping retain revenue while providing customers with a discount code for future purchases.

How to enable Refund to Store Credit Resolution?

Step 1: Go to Settings > Resolution

Enable “Refund to Discount code” toggle
Add description text (optional)

Step 2: Set up settings for Discount code

Set up Prefix to generate the random codes => For example: REFUND (Prefix) + "random number" = REFUND2026
Set up Value (Percentage) of Discount code
Set Expiration Date to encourage shoppers use the codes as soon as possible (optional)
Enable noitification of discount to send the information of discount code to shoppers (optional)

The discount code value is calculated based on the return credit. For example, if you set the discount value to 50% and the return credit is $200, the customer will receive a discount code worth $100 for future purchases.

Step 3: Save changes > Preview on Return Page

How It Works?

In Returns Portal

Shows total refund value
Customers see discount code as refund option

In Synctrack Admin

View Refund to discount code as resolution of return request.
After approving request and issuing store credit sucessfully, Synctrack will display a random Discount code with Prefix which also leads to discunt code in your Shopify admin

In Shopify Admin

After refunded sucessfully, the discount code will be created and added directly to Discount in Shopify Admin and applied for shoppers.

Customer experience

After refunded sucessfully, your customer will automatically receive the discount code information through Synctrack notification. Learn more how notifications work
