Cost management: Shipping & Tax Settings
Shipping settings
You can set up configured Shopify shipping rates or customize your own shipping rates, which are displayed in the Quote Form for your customers. In Cost Management tab, please switch to Shipping to access this feature.
- Use Shopify shipping rates
By selecting this option, you will use the configured Shopify shipping rates for the quote form. Buyers will be able to select the right shipping method for them before quoting.
Important note:
- Customers must fill in the Shipping address, including Country, State, and Zip Code, to see the Shipping method. Therefore, you must enable these fields on your Quote Form, and we recommend setting them as required.
- You must enable the Price field on the Quote Form in order to display the available shipping methods to customers, allowing them to select their preferred option. If the Price field is not enabled, shipping (and tax) will still be applied to the quote automatically. In this case, the Quote detail will show the default shipping option (the first one configured in your Shopify Shipping settings), even though customers will not see or be able to choose a shipping method on the Quote Form while they are buying

For example: Your store already has a shipping policy configured directly in the Shopify admin. Now these shipping settings can be automatically reflected in the quotes generated through the app instead of being filled manually.
- You set up the Shopify shipping as Standard: đ12 and Same-day Delivery: đ24 for Vietnam market. When a buyer from Vietnam request a quote from your site, they can select the shipping that they want for the quote based on the configured shipping settings which are Standard: đ12 or Same-day Delivery: đ24.

Similarly, if in Shopify setting, you have setup a condition for shipping rates based on the order value already, this conditional pricing will also be applied to the quote submission.
- Use custom shipping rates by quote value
By selecting this option, you will create a customized shipping rates for the quote form. The shipping cost will automatically apply to them based on the conditions without letting them select the shipping methods.
At the moment, the app only support custom shipping rates by quote subtotal. It means that it depends on the quote subtotal requested by your customers, the right shipping cost will be applied.
For example: the quote subtotal is under $130, the submitted quote will be automatically charged $12 for shipping costs.

Note:
- Regarding the shipping option following Shopify settings, customers must fill the Shipping address including Country, State, Zipcode to be able to see the Shipping method
- Please be aware that this Shipping feature allows your customer to select the preferred shipping from your store. It doesn't mean that previously submitted quotes / manually-created quotes will be applied the Shipping.
- You can still hide the price by turning off the price field in the quote form, but still show the Shipping methods to your customers
Tax settings
You can set up configured Shopify tax rates, which are displayed in the Quote Form for your customers.
- Use Shopify tax rates
By selecting this option, you will use the configured Shopify tax rates for the quote form. Buyers will be applied the right shipping method for them when requesting for quotes.
- You must enable the Price field on the Quote Form in order to display the available tax to customers. If the Price field is not enabled, tax will still be applied to the quote automatically. In this case, the Quote detail will show the default tax option (the first one configured in your Shopify tax settings), even though customers will not see tax on the Quote Form while they are buying

Tax-inclusive pricing
In the case, you are following tax-inclusive business. For example: You are checking the box "include sales tax" in the Shopify Tax admin. Then, Quote Snap will automatically detect that you are following tax-inclusive setup and the tax in the Quote Form will be shown but not added up to the Subtotal.

Also, please make sure that you have selected this in the market that you want to set up the tax-inclusive approach or you can set dynamic tax display.

Then, you can change the Tax label in the form to Tax included. By going to Cost management > Tax > change the label to Tax included or any proper label.

Tax-inclusive pricing: Display price after tax on the quote form
If you want to display price after tax on the quote form, you just need to enable the Shopify tax rates box.

Tax-inclusive pricing: Display price before tax on the quote form
In the scenario that you want to display price before tax on the quote form and you are already following tax-inclusive pricing. You can enable the "Display the price before tax on the quote form" option.

For example: You are selling a book. This book is 2.65 (included tax), and the tax is ~16.6%. That means the price before tax is 2.21. If you enable the price before tax checkbox, the form will show as the following image.

However, even the form display the price before tax, the price shown in the admin (Submission list) will be price after tax since Shopify’s draft order is fixed according to the market’s configured tax, the invoice for payment will also follow the draft order. Therefore, if we show the price before tax in the backend, it will show the wrong value when you convert the quote to draft order.
Note:
Limitations
Shipping and Tax settings are having some limitations that we are working relentessly on improving:
- Shipping and Tax won't be applied if you use Get Instant Quote
Tax-inclusive pricing: Display price before tax on the quote form
- In the case where, on the storefront, the locale is set to a country that’s excluded, and then inside the Quote form the Shipping Address is changed to a country that’s included, the calculation becomes incorrect: it takes the product price from one country and the tax from another.
- The PDF, Invoice, Email is not able to display the price before tax at the moment. We will improve soon
- Currently, the Add Product section in the form does not return the correct price, because when multiplying the price with the Shopify rate to convert, the displayed price is still incorrect → To be improved later
