Trakpilot - Tracking orders from Shop App and third-party payment gateways to GA4 (No setup required)
This feature allows Trakpilot to automatically track and send purchase events even when the order is completed outside the normal storefront flow, such as through Shop App or certain third-party payment gateways.
You do not need to set up anything additional to use this feature.
How this feature works
Normally, tracking apps rely on browser pixels. This means if a customer:
- completes the purchase through Shop App (Buy with Shop)
- completes the order using a third-party payment gateway
- finishes the checkout outside the storefront environment
the purchase event may not be sent to GA4 or Google Ads.
With this update, Trakpilot automatically detects these orders using Shopify order data and sends the purchase events for you.
Do you need to enable anything?
No.
If you already:
- installed Trakpilot
- connected GTM or GA4
- enabled purchase tracking
then this feature is already working automatically in the background.
What will improve after this update?
After this feature is active, you may notice:
- More purchase events appearing in GA4
- More accurate conversions in Google Ads
- Less difference between Shopify orders and GA4 data
- Fewer missing purchase events
- Better tracking for delayed purchases (customers who buy later)
- Orders completed through Shop App will now be tracked
When is this feature especially useful?
This feature is particularly helpful if:
- GA4 shows fewer purchases than Shopify
- Google Ads conversion numbers are lower than your actual orders
- your customers use Shop App to complete purchases
- you use multiple payment gateways
- you’ve noticed missing purchase events in the past
Important note
This feature does not change your current tracking setup.
It simply helps recover purchase events that were previously missed when the pixel could not run.
