Which Store Permissions Should Omega Access on Your Shopify Store?
Sometimes, there are specific issues or customizations that require the Omega team to access your Shopify store in order to make changes or provide deeper support.
Rest assured — our process is completely secure, and if you request it, we’re happy to provide a detailed report of every change made on your Shopify Admin during the process.
📨 How Omega Gets Access to Your Store
To access your store, we typically send you a collaboration request through Shopify.
You can follow this guide on how to accept a collaborator request to approve it.
If, for any reason, you’re unable to receive or accept the collaboration request, please send us a Staff invitation instead — follow this instruction:

⚙️ Permissions Omega Usually Needs
Depending on your support case, our agent will inform you which permissions are required.
Below are the basic access permissions we typically request:
Store Permissions
- Orders – View only
Normally, Omega’s apps that involve purchase or order tracking and processing — such as Pixels, Tags, Delivery Date apps,... — may require access to Ordes.

- Products – View only
Apps related to product data (e.g. discount, order limit, or delivery date apps,... with product-based rules) may require access to Product view permissions.

- Customers and Companies – View only
Apps that include settings related to Customers or Companies — such as Quote, Order Limit, or Discount apps — may require access to Customer and/or Companies view permissions.

- Discounts – View only
Some apps, such as Checkout Rules or Discount, require access to the Discounts area to view discount rules during checkout processes.

- Theme accesss – View and edit
Most apps will also require Theme access and Edit permissions during the setup or troubleshooting process.
This allows the Omega team to customize app placement, adjust display settings, or fix theme-related issues directly in your store.

- Store settings

When enabling the Manage Settings permission, Shopify also grants limited access to the Notifications section within your admin.
This allows Omega’s apps to adjust or edit email **notifications **related to the purchase process, if needed.

This permission is usually required by apps like:
Estimated Delivery Date
DingDoong
Return Drive
In some cases, apps may require access to Customer events editing.
Our support agents will let you know when this permission is needed.
However, please make sure to grant both “Manage” and “Add customer pixels” permissions as well — these are often required for proper app tracking and event setup.
Important note:
Normally, our support agents will only ask merchants to update the Customer events permission under Store permissions > Store settings, since this specific access cannot be included when we send the initial collaboration request to your store.
If you are requested to grant this permission, please make sure to enable both “View” and “Manage” access.
Please follow this guide for detailed steps:
👉 How to update permissions for a collaborator

This permission is commonly requested by:
Pixels tracking apps – such as Facebook Multi Pixels, Omega TikShop,...
Tags tracking apps – such as Tagfly, Trakpilot,...
Store protection or rules-based apps – such as Blockify, Checkout Rules,...
App and Sales Channel Permissions
This section allows the Omega team to access the apps installed on your Shopify store.
These permissions are usually requested when our team needs to edit or configure an app from the merchant’s perspective within the Shopify settings.
They are often requested together with Theme access, since app adjustments sometimes require theme customization as well.
You can choose to:
✅ Grant access only to Omega’s app (recommended for most cases),

or
🔄 Grant full app access — which allows Omega to view or edit other installed apps if necessary.

Granting broader access may be required in specific cases, such as:
When multiple apps need to be integrated or synchronized with Omega’s app.
When troubleshooting issues involving interactions between Omega’s app and another app on your store.
That’s all you need to know about the permissions Omega may request.
If you’re ever unsure which access to grant, please don’t hesitate to contact our support team — we’re always here to help ensure your store stays secure and fully optimized. 💙
