A complete guide: Multi-store connection

Overview

Multi-Store lets Enterprise merchants connect and manage several Shopify stores from one Synctrack Returns account. A main store connects sub-stores with a connection key, then views and handles return requests and analytics across every connected store — all from the app, no support request needed.

What you'll learn

How to open the Multi-store tab?

Step 1: Go to Settings > Integration.

Step 2: Open the Multi-store tab (alongside Apps, Webhooks, and Open API credential).

On this tab the main store sees an Integrated stores table (each store's domain and status — Main store, Sub-store, or Pending) and a Connection key with Copy, Refresh, and Delete actions.

Important: On plans below Enterprise the tab is locked — the connection key is blurred and actions are disabled. An "Available on Enterprise" banner with an Upgrade button is shown instead.

How to connect a sub-store?

You can connect from either store.

From the main store:

Step 1: On the Multi-store tab, click Add connection and enter the sub-store's Shopify URL (for example child-store.myshopify.com). This creates a pending connection.

Step 2: Open Synctrack Returns on the sub-store — a popup asks for the Connection key. Enter the key from the main store to finish connecting.

From the sub-store:

Step 1: On the sub-store, click Connect to main store.

Step 2: Paste the Connection key from the main store. The key is validated and the stores connect instantly.

Tip: The sub-store must have Synctrack Returns installed before it can connect, and each sub-store can be linked to only one main store at a time.

How to buy more store slots?

Enterprise includes 1 store (your main store). To connect any sub-store, you add slots.

Step 1: Add another store — a charge popup appears.

Step 2: Use the slider to pick your target store count (up to 50). The add-on is (store count − 1) × $99/month, added to your plan price.

Step 3: Confirm, then approve the charge on Shopify. Your slot count updates and you return to the Integration tab.

Important: Discounts apply only to your plan price, never to the $99 slot price. Buying slots does not change your return quota.

How to reduce store slots?

If you have slots you no longer need, lower your slot count to save cost.

Step 1: On the slot slider, drag down to your new target count. The popup shows the new price and your monthly savings.

Step 2: Click Reduce slots and approve the new charge on Shopify.

Tip: You can't go below 1 slot (the Enterprise default — your main store) or below the number of stores you currently have connected. To go lower, disconnect a store first.

How to view returns across all stores?

Step 1: Open Management to see return requests from all connected stores. Requests from a sub-store show a store badge.

Step 2: Use the store filter (multi-select) to narrow to specific stores.

Step 3: Open Analytics and use the same store filter to include other stores in your reports and metrics.

Important: Actions such as refund, label creation, exchange, and comments always run on the request's original store. If a sub-store loses its connection, its actions are blocked until you reconnect it.

Who can use this feature?

Available on the Enterprise plan. Enterprise includes 1 store (your main store); each additional store from the 2nd onward is an add-on of $99/store/month.

FAQs

  1. How do I disconnect a sub-store?

On the Multi-store tab, click Remove next to the store (works for Pending and Connected stores). The store returns to the free Starter plan and its data is kept; your maximum slot count stays the same.

  1. What happens to a sub-store when it is disconnected, or when the main store leaves Enterprise?

A disconnected sub-store returns to the Starter plan with the default Starter quota (no data is lost). If the main store downgrades from Enterprise, the whole group is dissolved: all sub-stores are disconnected and return to Starter, and the connection key is removed.

  1. Does buying more slots increase my quota?

No. Slots only change how many stores you can connect. All connected stores share one quota: usage is the total return requests across the group for the month, and the limit comes from the main store. Over-quota warning emails go to the main store only.

  1. Can a sub-store change its own plan?

No. While connected, a sub-store's plan is managed by the main store and its plan/charge buttons are disabled.

  1. How many stores can I connect?

Up to 50 stores in total, including the main store.
