Meta Pixel & Conversions API — How It Works
Every sale starts with data. Meta needs accurate signals from your store to know who's buying, so it can find more buyers like them. The more complete your tracking, the better your ads perform.
What are Pixel and CAPI?
Think of tracking as a bridge between your store and Meta. This bridge allows Meta to understand your buyers' behavior so it can optimize your ads for the best results. Currently, there are two ways to build this bridge:
- Meta Pixel (Browser-side): A small script on your storefront that fires events directly from the customer's browser when they view products, add to cart, or purchase.
- Conversion API / CAPI (Server-side): A direct connection between your server and Meta. It doesn't rely on the browser, so ad blockers can't interfere.
