Omega Google Ads: Shopify Flow Automations
What are Flow Automations?
- Flow Automations let you turn the tracking signals Omega Google Ads already collects into automatic actions in your store, using Shopify Flow. Omega Google Ads recognizes which orders and customers come from Google Ads, and Shopify Flow acts on that: tagging customers, emailing you a weekly report, or retrying a conversion that failed to upload.
- This sits on top of your existing tracking. It does not change how Omega Google Ads sends conversions to Google Ads, GA4, or GTM. Your tracking keeps running exactly as before, and these automations simply reuse the same signals to save you manual work.
- Trakpilot ships 4 ready-to-use templates. You install the ones you want in Shopify Flow, adjust a threshold if you like, and they run on their own:

Before you start
You need all three of these in place:
- Omega Google Ads, GA4 & GTM installed with your Google Ads account connected and a valid conversion action.
- The Shopify Flow app installed on your store (it is free from Shopify).
- The template(s) you want, installed from Shopify Flow. Each template is independent, so you can turn on only the ones you need.
💡 You can edit a template after installing it, for example to change the value threshold, without breaking anything. Your changes stay inside Shopify Flow.
How Trakpilot identifies Google Ads traffic
- Every template relies on one shared rule. An order counts as Google Ads traffic when it has a Google click ID (GCLID, GBRAID, or WBRAID) captured at checkout, or when its **
utm_sourceisgoogle**. - When more than one signal is present, Omega Google Ads trusts the click ID first, then the UTM source. Orders with neither are treated as organic or another channel.
- This means an order can still be counted as Google Ads even if its UTM tags are missing, as long as the click ID was captured.
The 4 templates
1. Tag high-value Google Ads orders
What it does: when a single order comes from Google Ads and its value is at or above your threshold, the customer is tagged.
- Runs on: each qualifying order, as it happens.
- Default threshold: order value of 200 (in your store currency). You can change this in the template.
- Result: the customer gets the tag **
trakpilot-google-ads-high-value**. - Good to know: if the same order qualifies again, the tag is not added twice. Orders placed as a guest with no customer account are skipped, since there is no customer to tag.

2. Weekly UTM performance report
What it does: emails you a weekly summary of your store's performance by traffic channel.
- Runs on: a weekly schedule, every Monday at 9:00 in your store's timezone.
- Result: an email that breaks down orders, revenue, AOV, and each channel's share across Google, Facebook, TikTok, Email, Organic, and Other.
- Good to know: the email is sent through Shopify Flow's own email action, and the subject line starts with **
[Omega Google]** so it is easy to find. By default, if there were no orders that week, no email is sent. The same weekly report is not sent twice to the same recipient.
3. Tag lifetime high-value customers (LTV)
What it does: tags customers whose total Google Ads spend with you crosses a threshold over time, not just on a single order.
- Runs on: each purchase, recalculating the customer's Google Ads value over the last 90 days.
- Default threshold: net revenue of 500 (or an order count you set). You can change this in the template.
- Result: the customer gets the tag **
trakpilot-google-ads-ltv-high**. - Good to know: the total is based on net revenue after refunds, not gross sales, so a refunded order lowers the total fairly. A customer is tagged only once per 90-day window, so repeat buyers do not trigger it again and again.

4. Automatically retry failed conversions
What it does: when a conversion upload to Google Ads fails for a temporary reason, it is retried automatically instead of being lost.
- Runs on: each failed conversion upload that is safe to retry.
- Result: the conversion is sent back into Trakpilot's normal upload process and re-attempted, up to 3 times.
- Good to know: only temporary failures are retried (for example a network error, rate limit, or a click that is too recent). Permanent failures are not retried, because retrying will not help. Those usually mean something needs fixing in your setup (for example a missing or misconfigured conversion action, or a permissions issue). If a conversion keeps failing, check your ROI Optimization screen. The retry is safe: the same conversion is never uploaded twice, and once it succeeds it stops.

Flow automation history
- Every automation writes to a Flow automation history view inside your Omega Google Ads dashboard, so you can see exactly what ran and why.
- For each record you can see the status (sent, failed, or skipped), the time it ran, the flow name, the related order, customer, or conversion, and, when something failed or was skipped, the reason. History is kept for at least 30 days, depending on your plan.

Frequently asked questions
- Do these automations change how my conversions are tracked? No. They run on top of your existing tracking and reuse its signals. Your conversion uploads to Google Ads, GA4, and GTM are unaffected.
- Do I have to use all four templates? No. Each template is independent. Install only the ones you want, and turn them off any time in Shopify Flow.
- Can I change the value thresholds? Yes. Open the installed template in Shopify Flow and edit the threshold. The high-value order template defaults to 200 and the lifetime template defaults to 500, both in your store currency.
- An order from Google Ads was not tagged. Why? The most common reasons are that the order value was below your threshold, the order was a guest checkout with no customer account, or the order was not recognized as Google Ads traffic (no Google click ID and no
utm_source=google). - Why didn't I get a weekly report? Reports are sent Monday at 9:00 in your store timezone. If there were no orders that week, no report is sent by default. Check your spam folder for a subject starting with
[Omega Google]. - A conversion failed and was not retried. What should I do? That failure was likely a permanent one that a retry cannot fix. Open your ROI Optimization screen to check your conversion setup, and use View more on any item that needs action.
