Omega TikTok Pixel - Shopify flow integrations
Omega TikTok Pixel now integrates with Shopify Flow, so your team can be notified automatically right inside the tools you already use — when:
- A product you're advertising on TikTok goes completely out of stock.
- Your TikTok conversion funnel drops unexpectedly.
Both automations bring TikTok-specific context — campaigns, ad groups, catalogs, and funnel metrics — into Shopify Flow, so your team can react without opening TikTok Ads Manager or the Omega app first.
Before you start
- Omega TikTok Pixel is installed and connected to your TikTok Business account.
- Your products are synced to a TikTok catalog / product set.
- Shopify Flow is available on your store (built into Shopify Flow app in Shopify admin).

- You have at least one active TikTok campaign referencing the product(s) you want to monitor.
Flow 1: Notify me when an advertised product goes fully out of stock
What it does
This flow watches your Shopify inventory. When every variant of a product goes out of stock, and that product is linked to an active TikTok campaign, your team receives a notification with the TikTok context needed to decide what to do next - pause the ad group, exclude the product from your catalog, swap the creative, or restock.
Note: This flow does not pause your TikTok ads automatically. It notifies your team so a person makes the call, this avoids accidentally pausing ads that are still driving sales from other in-stock products.
How to set it up
- In Shopify admin, go to Apps > Shopify Flow (or search “Flow” in the Shopify admin search bar).
- Click Browse templates, then search for Omega TikTok Pixel.
- Click into template “Notify team when an advertised product goes fully out of stock”.
- Review the pre-filled trigger and condition, no changes are needed to get started.
- Under Action, choose how you want to be notified: Send internal email (default), or a Slack step if you’ve connected Slack to Shopify Flow.
- Click Install workflow. We have the pre-install note there.
You can continue modifying the flow if you wish. Then Turn on workflow:
How it works under the hood
- Trigger: Product variant out of stock
- Condition: All variants of the product are out of stock. A single out-of-stock variant does not trigger a notification, this avoids noise when the product still has other sellable variants.
- Omega action - Get TikTok ad context for product: looks up the campaigns, ad groups, and catalogs/product sets connected to that product.
What’s in the notification
- Product name and SKU, with a link back to the product in Shopify admin.
- Number of matched TikTok campaigns.
- Campaign names (clickable — opens directly in TikTok Ads Manager) and their status.
- Ad group names (clickable).
- Catalog / product set names (clickable, where TikTok supports a stable link).
- Pixel ID(s) involved.
- A recommended next action based on the situation, e.g. “Review and consider pausing the related ad group” or “No active TikTok campaign was matched — check catalog sync.”
If several products go out of stock at the same time, you’ll receive a separate notification for each one, so it’s clear exactly which product needs attention.
What to do when you get notified
Situation | Recommended action |
|---|---|
Campaign advertises only this product | Consider pausing the related ad group. |
Campaign uses a broad catalog with many products | Don’t pause the whole campaign — exclude just this product from the catalog/product set. |
No campaign was matched | Check that the product is in your TikTok catalog and the mapping is up to date, or ignore the alert if the mapping is no longer active. |
Flow 2: Notify team when TikTok conversion funnel drops
What it does
Omega continuously tracks how visitors move through your TikTok funnel: View Content → Add to Cart → Initiate Checkout → Purchase. Once a week, it compares the last 7 days to the 7 days before that. If one step drops sharply, your team is notified with the likely cause and a recommended action before the drop shows up as lost revenue.
Common issues this can catch early: a broken pixel or Conversions API connection, a checkout error on a specific device or browser, an underperforming landing or product page, or lower-quality traffic from a campaign.
How to set it up
- In Shopify admin, go to Apps > Shopify Flow.
- Click Browse templates, then search for Omega TikTok Pixel.
- Click into template "Notify team when TikTok conversion funnel drops".
- Review the trigger Omega’s Conversion funnel drop detected and the default condition (severity is warning or critical).
- Choose your Action: Send internal email (default) or a Slack step. You can optionally add a Log output or shop metafield step to keep a record.
- Click Turn on workflow.
How the drop is detected
- Runs weekly, comparing the current 7-day period to the previous 7-day period, using your store’s timezone.
- Checks each of the 3 funnel steps: View Content → Add to Cart, Add to Cart → Initiate Checkout, Initiate Checkout → Purchase.
- Only evaluates a step when there’s enough traffic to be meaningful (at least 30 events at the prior step) — this avoids false alarms on low-traffic stores.
Severity
Severity | Condition |
|---|---|
Warning | Step conversion rate is down 20% or more vs. the previous period. |
Critical | Step conversion rate is down 40% or more, or dropped to zero from a previously active step. |
What’s in the notification
- Shop and pixel (or “All Pixels” if aggregated).
- Current period vs. previous period.
- Which funnel step dropped.
- Current vs. previous step conversion rate, and the percent change.
- Severity (warning / critical).
- A likely cause and a recommended action.
- A direct link back to Conversion Analytics in the Omega app.
Avoiding repeat alerts
You won’t get the same alert twice for the same issue. Each combination of drop step and pixel is only reported once per period — unless the situation gets worse (for example, from warning to critical), in which case you’ll be notified again.
What to do when you get notified
Drop step | Likely cause | Recommended action |
|---|---|---|
View Content → Add to Cart | Product page/offer isn’t convincing, low-quality traffic, price or shipping concerns | Check the landing page, pricing, creative-to-page match, and product availability. |
Add to Cart → Initiate Checkout | Cart UX friction, unexpected shipping/tax, discount code issues | Check the cart drawer/page, shipping thresholds, discount codes, and checkout CTA. |
Initiate Checkout → Purchase | Checkout/payment issue, COD/payment method problems, device/browser issue, broken Purchase tracking | Check your payment gateway, checkout errors, CAPI/Purchase tracking, and device/browser segments. |
Adjusting thresholds and schedule
Both flows install with sensible defaults, but Shopify Flow lets you edit any workflow after installing it:
- Change who gets notified, add or remove email recipients, or swap in a Slack step.
- Add extra conditions, e.g. only notify for a specific product tag or collection.
- Flow 2’s warning/critical thresholds and weekly cadence are Omega defaults; add your own condition steps in Shopify Flow to further filter which alerts reach your team.
Current limitations
- Flow 1 does not automatically pause TikTok ads — it only notifies your team.
- Flow 2 runs weekly and its cadence currently can’t be changed from within the app; use Shopify Flow conditions to control which alerts get through.
- Products need to be synced to a TikTok catalog with an active campaign mapping for Flow 1 to find related TikTok context.
FAQ
Q: I got a notification but no campaign was linked — why?
A: This means Omega couldn’t find an active TikTok campaign or catalog mapping for that product. Check that the product is included in your TikTok catalog and that the relevant campaign is still active.
Q: Can I get notified in Slack instead of email?
A: Yes — in the workflow’s Action step, replace “Send internal email” with your Slack connector step, if you’ve already connected Slack to Shopify Flow.
Q: Will pausing the ad group pause the whole campaign?
A: No. Flow 1 only recommends pausing the specific ad group tied to the out-of-stock product, not the entire campaign — this protects other products in the same campaign that are still in stock.
Q: Why didn’t I get a funnel drop alert even though sales feel slow?
A: The alert only fires when there’s enough traffic to be statistically meaningful (at least 30 events at the step before the drop) and when the drop crosses the warning/critical thresholds. Small stores with low traffic may not trigger an alert every time.
