Add an exception date
Add an exception date
Open a special operating day that isn't part of your regular working days — for peak seasons when you want to take extra orders.
Overview
An exception date makes a normally-closed day available for fulfillment. Example: you normally operate Monday–Friday, but during BFCM/Christmas/New Year you add Sunday so you can handle more orders.
Before you start
- The method (Shipping, Pickup, or Delivery) is enabled with a scheduling rule.
How to add an exception date
Here's how, step by step:
Step 1: Open the method rule
Go to the method you want to add a special working day for.
Step 2: Add the exception date

Tips & Best practices
Troubleshooting
The exception day isn't selectable?
Confirm it's added to the correct method's rule, isn't also in blackout dates, and falls within the future-order window.
It opened for the wrong method?
Exception dates are per method — add it to each method you intend.
FAQ
Can I open a day for specific products only?
Use an override with a "specific available date" for those products.
How do I remove it?
