Collect customer info at the widget (name, phone, note)

Capture extra details — recipient name, phone number, and a note — right in the date picker, so you have everything you need for delivery or pickup.

This feature requires the Smart plan or above.

Overview

Beyond the date and time, DingDoong can collect a customer note at the widget: name, phone, and a free-text note. This is ideal for gift messages, recipient contact details, gate codes, or special handling instructions — captured at scheduling rather than chased afterward.

Enabling this only adds fields for new orders; existing orders are unaffected.

Before you start

  • You're on the Smart plan or above.
  • The widget is displayed on your chosen page.

How to enable customer info fields

Here's how, step by step:

Tips & Best practices

Only require the fields you truly need — every extra required field adds checkout friction. A required phone for delivery is usually worth it; a required note often isn't.

Translate the labels for non-English storefronts so the fields read naturally.

Troubleshooting

The fields don't appear?

Confirm you're on Smart+ and the fields are enabled and saved; refresh the storefront.

Where do I see the submitted info?

It's saved with the order — check the order in your admin / Order report.

FAQ

How do I make a field optional again?

Open the customer note settings, turn off "required" for that field, and save.

How do I remove the fields entirely?

Disable name/phone/note and save.
