Integration with Shopify Flow x Blockify
Overview
Shopify Flow is Shopify's free automation app: it does a job for you each time something happens in your store. With Blockify, it can act after Blockify scores, flags or cancels an order: tag the order, hold fulfilment, alert your team or block the visitor who placed it. In Flow, a trigger is the event that starts a workflow, a condition is a check such as "order total above $500", and an action is the job Flow then does. Blockify adds three triggers and two actions to Flow. Turn the integration on in Integrations > Shopify Flow.

Requirement
Fraud Filters must be on: Blockify triggers only start for orders that have a risk score. Set Cancel order automatically or Flag order on the risk levels you want Flow to react to.
Step 1: Enable Shopify Flow in Blockify
- In the Blockify admin, open Integrations and click Set up on the Shopify Flow card.

- If Shopify Flow is not installed on your store yet, click Install and add it from the Shopify App Store.

- Click Enable so Blockify starts telling Shopify Flow when something happens to an order.

Step 2: Set up your flow
- From your Shopify admin, open the Shopify Flow app and click Create workflow.

- Choose a trigger, then add conditions and actions. You find the Blockify triggers and actions under the Blockify app name.

- Click Turn on workflow.

Available triggers and actions
A Blockify trigger starts a workflow when something happens to an order in Blockify; a Blockify action is a job Blockify does inside any workflow.
Triggers
Trigger | Starts | Gives Flow |
|---|---|---|
Risk Analysis Completed | For every new order, once it has a risk score | Order + risk score |
Order Flagged for Review | When an order falls in a risk level whose action is Flag order | Order + risk level tag |
Order Blocked | After Blockify cancels an order in a risk level whose action is Cancel order automatically | Order |

Risk Analysis Completed also gives you a Blockify condition, riskScore: how risky the order is, from 0 to 1. You can use it together with any other Flow condition (for example riskScore above 0.5).
Actions
Action | What it does |
|---|---|
Block this visitor | Adds the IP address the order came from to your Blockify Blacklist, so the visitor is stopped at your store before they can order again |
Allowlist this visitor | Adds the IP address the order came from to your Blockify Whitelist, so block rules never stop this visitor. Use it to undo a wrong block |
Both actions also work in workflows started by Shopify's own triggers, such as Order created, Order paid, Order fulfilled or Refund created.
Ready-made templates
Shopify Flow has 25 ready-made Blockify templates (workflows you only need to fill in). The three most common (Hold flagged orders for review, Alert my team about risky orders and Cancel only high-value high-risk orders) also appear on the Integrations > Shopify Flow page under Ready-made templates with an Add to Flow button. Until you click Enable (Step 1), the Add to Flow buttons are greyed out and each card reads "Enable Flow events above to use this template."

How to install a template
- From your Shopify admin, go to Apps > Flow > Templates and filter the list by Blockify (or click Add to Flow on a card in Blockify).
- Open the template and read its Setup note.
- Fill in every blank field the note mentions, then click Turn on workflow.
Tag and record
Template | What it does | Trigger |
|---|---|---|
Tag every order with its Blockify risk level | Tags each order high, medium or low risk | Risk Analysis Completed |
Tag customers by their Blockify risk band | Tags the customer as well as the order, so you can group customers in Shopify by risk | Risk Analysis Completed |
Tag and notify your team when Blockify cancels a blocked order | Tags the cancelled order and emails your team | Order Blocked |
Add a customer to a watchlist when their order is blocked | Tags the customer | Order Blocked |
Alert and integrate
Template | What it does | Trigger |
|---|---|---|
Alert my team about risky orders | Sends a high-risk order to Slack, SMS or any web address you choose | Risk Analysis Completed |
Alert your team when Blockify blocks a high-value order | Sends a message to another app (webhook) and an email when a cancelled order was above a value you set | Order Blocked |
Send flagged orders to your review system | Sends the details of every flagged order, including the risk level name, to a web address you choose | Order Flagged for Review |
Hold for review
Template | What it does | Trigger |
|---|---|---|
Hold flagged orders for review | Holds fulfilment on every order Blockify flags | Order Flagged for Review |
Hold orders where the billing and shipping addresses don't match | Holds fulfilment on an address mismatch and emails you both addresses | Risk Analysis Completed |
Hold fulfillment for high-risk orders shipping to selected countries | Holds orders to a country you choose that have a risk score above 0.5 | Risk Analysis Completed |
Hold large orders from first-time customers | Holds a customer's very first order when it is above a value you set | Risk Analysis Completed |
Hold unusually large quantity orders for review | Holds orders above an item count you set that also have a risk score above 0.3 | Risk Analysis Completed |
Hold orders paid entirely with gift cards | Holds gift-card-only orders that also have a risk score above 0.3 | Risk Analysis Completed |
Hold fulfilment when the same customer is flagged twice | The first flag notes the customer, the second flag holds the order | Order Flagged for Review |
Release, cancel and refund
Template | What it does | Trigger |
|---|---|---|
Release fulfilment holds on low-risk orders | Lifts the hold when an order's risk score is 0.3 or under | Risk Analysis Completed |
Cancel only high-value high-risk orders | Cancels high-risk orders only above a value you set | Risk Analysis Completed |
Cancel and refund orders flagged in a specific risk tier | Cancels, refunds and restocks, for one risk level you name only | Order Flagged for Review |
Block automatically
Template | What it does | Trigger |
|---|---|---|
Block the visitor after Blockify cancels their order | Blocks the IP address, first-time buyers only | Order Blocked |
Block repeat offenders after a second blocked order | The first cancelled order notes the customer, the second blocks the IP address | Order Blocked |
Block a buyer after you refund a suspect order | Blocks the IP address after you refund an order with a tag you name | Refund created |
Block repeat abuse of a discount code | The first use notes the customer, the second use blocks the IP address | Order created |
Block a watchlisted customer at their next order | Blocks anyone already tagged | Order created |
Let trusted customers in automatically
Template | What it does | Trigger |
|---|---|---|
Allowlist a customer after their second clean paid order | Adds the IP address to your Whitelist once a customer has paid for two orders | Order paid |
Allowlist a returning customer after Blockify cancels their order | Adds a repeat buyer whose order Blockify cancelled to your Whitelist, and emails you | Order Blocked |
Trust a customer once you fulfil an order Blockify held | Adds the IP address to your Whitelist after you ship an order Blockify had held | Order fulfilled |
Before a template will run
- Templates that start with Risk Analysis Completed, Order Flagged for Review or Order Blocked only run after you click Enable in Blockify (Step 1).
- Order Flagged for Review starts only when a risk level's action is Flag order; Order Blocked only when it is Cancel order automatically.
- Templates that cancel orders themselves (for example Cancel only high-value high-risk orders) need Blockify's own Cancel order automatically turned off for that risk level.
- The five templates on Order created, Order paid, Order fulfilled and Refund created use Shopify's own triggers and run even if you have not clicked Enable; they only need Blockify installed.
- Templates that tag a customer or count their orders skip guest orders (orders placed without a customer account).
- Release fulfilment holds on low-risk orders only lifts holds that Shopify Flow itself placed.
Example workflows
1. Cancel high-risk orders and flag medium-risk orders for review
Trigger: Risk Analysis Completed. Split the workflow by riskScore: cancel high-risk orders, tag medium-risk orders for your team to review, tag low-risk orders as safe to fulfil.

2. Tag fraudulent customers and alert your team
Trigger: Order Blocked. Add a fraud-risk tag to the customer and send an email or Slack message to your fraud team.

3. Create a support task for orders your team needs to check
Trigger: Order Flagged for Review. Create a ticket in a helpdesk such as Gorgias, or email your team the customer details, order value and a link to the order.

Who can use this feature?
Available on the Enterprise and Shopify Plus plans.
FAQs
- My workflow never runs. What should I check?
Check that you clicked Enable in Integrations > Shopify Flow, that the risk level your trigger depends on has the matching action in Fraud Filters (Flag order or Cancel order automatically), and that the workflow is turned on in Shopify Flow.
- Can I use Blockify actions without clicking Enable?
Yes. Block this visitor and Allowlist this visitor work in any workflow, including ones started by Shopify triggers. Only the three Blockify triggers need Enable turned on.
- Where do I see visitors a workflow blocked?
In the visitor log under Analytics, filter by Block reason and pick the dates. Rules do not show their own block count.
- Can I edit a ready-made template after installing it?
Yes. A template becomes an ordinary workflow in Shopify Flow; change any trigger, condition or action, then turn it on again.
