Manage scheduled orders with tags & packing slips

Automatically tag each order with its date, time, and method, and print packing slips that include the schedule — so your whole workflow knows when each order is due.

Available on all plans.

Overview

After an order is placed with a date, DingDoong can attach order tags (scheduled date, time, and fulfillment name) so you can find and sort scheduled orders right in Shopify. You can also print packing slips with the selected date and time.

Tags and packing slips don't change the order — they add schedule info for your operations.

Before you start

  • Customers are placing orders with a date.
  • You can access General settings → Order tags and your Shopify Orders.

Configure automatic order tags

How to set it up

Go to General settings → Order tags and turn it on. Choose which tag types to add per method (shipping/delivery/pickup name, date, time, day).

Turn on order tags

Tags then appear on the Shopify order, e.g., the scheduled date/time and method name.

Don't want tags? Just turn this option off.

Print packing slips with date & time

When you add date and time to the packing slip, the selected schedule is added to the Shopify order Notes, which print on the slip.

How to set it up

From Shopify Orders, choose Print → Print packing slips. The selected date and time appear on the slip.

Tips & Best practices

Use the date tag as your Shopify-side filter — it lets staff who live in Shopify (not DingDoong) still sort by delivery day.

Keep tag types minimal (e.g., just date + method) to avoid cluttering the order with many tags.

Troubleshooting

Tags aren't appearing?

Confirm Order tags is on and the order was placed after enabling it; tags apply to new scheduled orders.

The packing slip doesn't show the date?

Make sure you enabled adding date/time (it writes to order Notes) before printing.

FAQ

How do I remove tags?

Turn off Order tags in General settings; future orders won't be tagged.

Can I choose which tags to add?

Yes — select the tag types per method in the Order tags settings.
