Sync tracking info for orders from Facebook & Instagram sales channels
Payments from gateways like Facebook, Instagram or credit cards often don't show the official PayPal transaction ID in Shopify. Transaction lookup finds the matching PayPal transaction for those orders so Synctrack can sync their tracking information to PayPal. It covers orders paid through PayPal on Facebook and Instagram, "PayPal Express Checkout Other" and "Credit/Debit card by PayPal".
There are two ways to set it up: use a PayPal account you connected with PayPal login (recommended), or use a Client ID and Secret key.
Option 1: Use your connected PayPal account (recommended)

- Go to Settings > Sync tracking features > Transaction lookup.
- Under PayPal accounts connected to Synctrack, click Use this PayPal account next to the account that receives these payments.
- The badge changes to Used for transaction lookup.
Synctrack then looks up transactions for new orders and retries orders from the last 30 days that couldn't be synced because the transaction was missing.
No PayPal account connected yet? Click Connect via PayPal login on the Transaction lookup tab (or go to Settings > Account settings > Payment gateway > Paypal tab), log in to PayPal, then come back and click Use this PayPal account.
Reconnect needed? The connection is missing the transaction search permission or has expired. Click Connect via PayPal login and log in with that PayPal account again.
Option 2: Use Client ID / Secret key instead

On the Transaction lookup tab, click Use Client ID / Secret key instead to open the manual form, then follow the steps below:
- Go to Paypal Developer Dashboard and log in with your account (If you’ve already logged in, skip this step).
- On the navigation bar, go to “Apps & Credentials” menu. Switch to “Live mode” using the toggle on the top-right corner.

- Click “Create App”

- Enter App Name and click “Create App”

- Scroll down to “Feature” section and make sure that the “Transaction search” setting is checked.

- Scroll up to “API credentials” section, copy “Client ID” and “Secret key”.

- Click “Add account” and enter the Client ID and Secret key into the text field. You can also enter the number of days to reprocess Facebook and Instagram sale channel orders.
