Auto-detect & prefill the delivery zip code

Auto-detect the nearest pickup location

For stores with several pickup points, automatically sort and show the nearest pickup locations at the top of the list — so customers don't scroll to find their closest store.

This feature requires the Smart plan or above, and lives under Integrations → Google Map (it needs Google Map enabled with an API key).

Overview

When you run multiple pickup locations, Auto-detect nearest pickup uses the pickup map to sort locations by proximity, putting the closest ones first. It's a sub-option of Enable Google Map on the Google Map integration page. Customers can still choose any location.

This only changes the order locations appear in — it doesn't restrict which locations customers can pick.

Before you start

How to enable it

Here's how, step by step:

Step 1: Open the Google Map integration

Go to Settings → Integrations → Google Map.

Step 2: Enable Google Map (if not already)

Tick Enable Google Map — "Show pickup locations on a map for quick selection." If you don't have an API key yet, you'll be prompted to add one (see Google Maps API).

Step 3: Turn on Auto-detect nearest pickup

Tick Auto-detect nearest pickup — "Automatically sort and display the nearest pickup locations at the top of the list." Save.

How it looks on the storefront

The pickup location list is ordered by distance, with the closest locations to the customer shown first.

Common scenarios

Chain with many branches

Surface the closest branch first so customers don't scroll a long list.

Regional pickup points

Tips & Best practices

Most useful with several pickup locations and the map enabled — with one location there's nothing to sort.

Keep each location's address accurate so "nearest" is calculated correctly.

Troubleshooting

It isn't sorting by nearest?

Confirm Google Map is enabled with a valid API key, the option is on, and your locations have accurate addresses.

The option is disabled / greyed out?

It requires the Smart plan or above (and Google Map enabled).

FAQ

Does this stop customers choosing another location?

No — it only re-orders the list; customers can pick any location.

How do I turn it off?

Untick Auto-detect nearest pickup under Integrations → Google Map.
