Integration with Shopify Flow x Synctrack PayPal

Overview: How the Synctrack PayPal x Shopify Flow integration works

With Synctrack PayPal, merchants can easily integrate with Shopify Flow to set multiple workflows around the PayPal/Stripe disputes and tracking sync in their Shopify store.

With this integration, you can:

  • Automate what happens on dispute and tracking-sync events (Dispute opened, Tracking sync completed, Sync failures exceeded threshold…).
  • Set up workflows triggered by Synctrack PayPal events, then filter them with Synctrack conditions such as gateway, transaction_amount, or dispute_reason.
  • Notify your team the moment a dispute opens or a response deadline is approaching, so no case expires unanswered.
  • Detect repeat disputers using prior_dispute_count and is_repeat_disputer — buyer dispute history that only Synctrack can provide.
  • Turn the integration on or off at any time from Settings → Integration, so you stay in control of what Synctrack sends to Flow.

To start, enable Shopify Flow in Synctrack PayPal, then build your workflow in the Shopify Flow app.

Complete guide to set up your first Shopify Flow

Step 1: Enable Shopify Flow in Synctrack PayPal

  1. From your Synctrack PayPal admin, go to SettingsIntegration tab. You will see the Shopify Flow card under Automation & workflow.
  2. If your store doesn't have Shopify Flow yet, click Install to open the Shopify Flow app listing and install it. Shopify Flow is free but requires a Shopify Basic plan or higher.
  3. Select Enable, then click Save. Synctrack PayPal only sends events to Shopify Flow while this setting is enabled — if you select Disable and save, all Synctrack triggers stop firing for your store.

Step 2: Set up flow in Shopify Flow

  1. From your Shopify admin, open the Shopify Flow app and click Create workflow.

  1. Click Select a trigger, search Synctrack, and choose a trigger from Synctrack PayPal — for example Synctrack: Dispute - Opened.

  1. Click Condition and choose a condition from Synctrack PayPal — for example gateway is PAYPAL, transaction_amount is greater than 100, or is_repeat_disputer is true.

  1. Click Action and choose an action from Shopify or a third-party app — tag the order, send an email, or notify your team.

  1. Click Turn on workflow to activate.

Example workflow templates

These are examples you can build yourself in Shopify Flow. Synctrack PayPal does not ship pre-built templates in this release.

A. Auto-tag "Chargeback risk" customer for repeat disputes — When Synctrack detects a dispute is opened and is repeat disputer is true, tag the customer so your team can review future orders before fulfilling them.

B. Alert your team when a high-value dispute is opened — When Synctrack detects a dispute is opened with gateway PAYPAL and transaction amount greater than your threshold, send an internal email or Slack notification so the case is answered before the deadline.

C. Flag orders when tracking sync fails — When Synctrack detects that sync failures have exceeded the threshold, tag the affected orders and notify your fulfillment team to fix the tracking number or carrier.

Who can use this feature?

Available on all Synctrack PayPal plans, including Free. Shopify Flow itself is free but requires a Shopify Basic plan or higher.

Your workflows only run while Shopify Flow is set to Enable in Settings → Integration.

Note: This release provides triggers and conditions only. Synctrack-specific action templates are coming in a later release!
