Auto-create Shopify return for withdrawal request

Overview

Automation settings cut the manual work of handling withdrawals: a product picker for partial withdrawals and automatic creation of Shopify returns for your shoppers' product selections, all immediately.

What you'll learn

How to let customers pick specific products

By default, the form has a text field where customers type the products they're withdrawing. Turn on Product pickers to instead show the actual line items from the matched order, so customers select exactly which items and quantities to withdraw.

Step 1: On the Settings page, enable Product pickers.
Step 2: Click Save.

When on, the product picker replaces the free-text Product(s) to withdraw field on the form.

How to auto-create Shopify returns

Turn on Auto-create Shopify returns to have Blockify create a native Shopify Return for each verified, fulfilled order automatically — so you don't have to create the return by hand.

Step 1: On the Settings page, enable Auto-create Shopify returns.
Step 2: Click Save.

Important: This only creates the return in Shopify when the withdrawal request is Verified — it does not issue a refund. You still refund (delivered orders) or cancel (unfulfilled orders) yourself in Shopify. See "Process & Complete a Withdrawal Request." The order is also tagged (for example EU Withdrawal) so you can find it easily.

Tip: Want to block invalid submissions at the form instead of reviewing them afterward? Turn on Auto-validate before submission — see "Auto-validate Withdrawals Before Submission."

Who can use this feature?

The product picker and auto-create Shopify returns are automation settings on the Settings page, available on all plans.

FAQs

  1. Does auto-create Shopify returns also refund the customer?

No. It only creates the native return in Shopify. You issue the refund (or cancel the order) yourself in Shopify.

  1. What happens to unfulfilled orders when auto-create returns is on?

A return can't be created for an unfulfilled order, so it's skipped — you cancel those orders in Shopify instead.

  1. Can I use these settings independently?

Yes. Each one is a separate toggle; enable whichever ones you want.
