Connect your account for Dispute Management

To manage disputes, Synctrack needs to connect to the PayPal/Stripe account that receives them.

Connect Paypal

You'll need a PayPal Business account and access to the PayPal Developer Dashboard. You can connect more than one PayPal account. The connection uses a Client ID and Secret key from your PayPal Developer Dashboard, so Synctrack can get new disputes as soon as they're filed — in real time.

Step 1: Open the connect dialog

Go to Settings > Dispute settings and, in the Payment gateway card, click Connect Paypal Development Account. A dialog opens asking for your account Email, Client ID, and Secret key.

Step 2: Get your Client ID and Secret key

  1. Go to the PayPal Developer Dashboard and log in.
  2. Open Apps & Credentials and switch to Live mode using the toggle in the top-right corner.

  1. Click Create App, enter an app name, and click Create App again.

  1. Scroll to the Features section and make sure Customer disputes is checked.

  1. Scroll up to API credentials and copy the Client ID and Secret key.

Step 3: Paste and save

Paste the Email, Client ID, and Secret key into Synctrack and click Save. The PayPal card switches to connected, and Synctrack registers a webhook so new disputes arrive in real time.

Note: We only require minimal access, so rest assured your PayPal account(s) will always be safe. Getting available disputes from a newly connected account for the first time may take a while, depending on how many disputes you have. To add another account, just repeat these steps.

Connect Stripe

How to connect Stripe

Synctrack connects to Stripe with a restricted key. For the full step-by-step of creating the key, follow Connect Stripe account for Sync tracking number — for disputes the only difference is that the key must also include Files: Write (needed to submit evidence).

Already connected Stripe for tracking sync? (good to know)

You don't need to connect Stripe again. If you already connected Stripe to sync tracking numbers, the same restricted key already powers Dispute Management — there's no separate connection to make in the Dispute section.

The only thing to check: that key was likely created without Files: Write, which is the permission required to submit evidence. You can still view all your disputes (list, details, deadlines) without it — you only need to add Files to submit. Just update the existing key, you don't recreate or re-paste it:

  1. Open your existing restricted key in Stripe → Edit key.

  1. Turn on Files: Write (keep all other permissions).

  1. Save — the key value stays the same, so nothing else changes in Synctrack.
