Customize your blocking page with HTML
Overview
You can add line breaks, bold text and a contact link to the Title and Description of your blocking page, instead of one block of plain text. You do this with HTML tags: short codes in angle brackets, such as <b> for bold. For templates, colours, logo and CSS see A complete guide: Customize your blocking page.

How to add HTML to your blocking page?
Step 1: Go to Settings > Blocking template and click Edit template.

Step 2: Open the Style tab. It has a Title section and a Description section, each with its own Text box.
Step 3: Type your message, with HTML tags, into the Text box. Use HTML mainly in Description (up to 256 characters). Title is limited to 64 characters, and the tags count toward that limit.

Example for Description:
Access to this store is currently restricted.<br>
<b>If you think this is a mistake, please contact us.</b>
Step 4: Click Save, then open your store from a blocked IP address, or create a short-term test rule for yourself, to check the result.
Supported HTML tags
Blockify keeps only the tags below. It removes any other tag, and any extra setting inside a tag (such as style="…"), when you save. To change the text colour, use the Color option next to each field.

Tag | What it does | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Line break |
|
| Bold text |
|
| Link |

| Bold text |

| Italic text |

If your HTML shows up as plain text, check that every tag is closed: <b>text</b>, not <b>text.
How to hide the blinking cursor on the Pixel template?
The Pixel template shows a blinking underscore ( _ ) at the end of the description. It is part of that template's typewriter look. To hide it:
Step 1: In the Blocking page editor, open the Custom CSS tab next to the Style tab.
Step 2: Add this line at the very end of the box, after the last }:
#blockify-block-text-blink { display: none; }Step 3: Click Save.
Who can use this feature?
Available on the Premium plan and above.
FAQs
- My bold text or link shows as plain text. Why?
The tag is not on the supported list or is not closed, or the Title went over 64 characters including tags and was cut off.
- Can I change the font size or colour with HTML?
No, Blockify removes style="…" from tags. Use the Color option next to the field, or the Custom CSS tab.
- Which link should I use for contact: mailto or a page?
Either works. A mailto: link opens the visitor's mail app; an https:// link opens your contact page.
