Different discount for product having subscriptions
Use Different discount for product having subscriptions to set a separate discount rate for subscription orders inside the same offer tier, so subscribers and one-time buyers each get the right deal.
How it works
Each tier in your offer has one discount value by default. When you turn on Different discount for product having subscriptions, the tier splits into two values: one applies to one-time purchases, and the other applies to subscription purchases of the same product. Pareto checks the line item at checkout and applies the matching rate.
Before you begin
- This setting is available in One Discount and Quantity Breaks campaign templates.
- If your subscription app already applies its own discount (for example, "10% off every subscription order"), that discount runs first. Pareto's subscription discount is then applied on top.
Set a different discount for subscriptions
- Open the offer you want to edit, or create a new One Discount or Quantity Breaks campaign.
- Go to Rule settings.
- Open the tier you want to configure and stay on the Condition tab.
- Check Different discount for subscriptions.
- Enter the Discount per item value and unit. This applies to one-time purchases.
- Enter the Subscription discount value and unit. This applies to subscription purchases.
- Click Save.
Repeat for each tier that needs a different subscription rate.

How it stacks with subscription apps
If a customer is buying a subscription product, the discounts are applied in this order:
- The subscription app's recurring discount (for example, Shopify Subscriptions, Recharge, or Appstle).
- Pareto's Subscription discount value for the matching tier.
The customer sees the final price at checkout after both discounts are applied.
Limitations
- Available in One Discount and Quantity Breaks templates only. Not available in Tiered, BOGO, or other campaign types.
- The setting is configured per tier. If you need different subscription rates across tiers, set each tier individually.
- The subscription discount applies only to line items the subscription app marks as a subscription purchase.
