Display Estimated VAT by country
Show country-specific VAT rates on your storefront so customers see the correct tax amount based on their shipping address.

How it works
When a customer enters their shipping address, Pareto automatically looks up the VAT rate configured for that country and displays it on the storefront. If no rate is set for that country, the app falls back to your default rate.

Set up VAT rates by country
- From your Pareto dashboard, go to Campaigns and open the campaign you want to configure.
- Scroll down to the Tax / VAT Display section.
- Toggle the switch to On.
- Click Add country to add a new row.
- Select the country from the dropdown and enter the VAT rate (as a percentage).
- Repeat for each country you need.
- Click Save.

Import rates from CSV
If you have many countries to configure, you can import them all at once using a CSV file.
- Download the CSV template from the Tax / VAT Display section.
- Fill in the
country_codeandvat_ratecolumns. - Click Import CSV and upload your file.
- Review the imported rows, then click Save.
The template follows the ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 country code format (for example, US, DE, GB).

Supported layouts
VAT by country works with all Pareto display layouts for quantity breaks and bundles (except for wholesale, buy your own bundle template), not just the table layout. You can use it with table, stacked, compact, or any custom layout configured in your theme settings.
Important notes
- If a customer has not yet entered a shipping address, Pareto displays the default VAT rate you set.
- If your store uses Shopify Markets, the VAT display matches the customer's assigned market region.
- If a customer changes their shipping address after adding items to the cart, the displayed VAT rate updates automatically.
- VAT display is cosmetic, it does not change the actual tax calculation, which is handled by Shopify.
