Manage Pareto discounts with Shopify Sidekick
Ask Shopify Sidekick to draft, edit, import, and export your Pareto discount offers in plain language, then save the result yourself inside Pareto so you stay in full control.

How it works
Pareto now exposes its capabilities and your offer data to Shopify Sidekick, the AI assistant built into your Shopify admin. You describe what you want in the chat, Sidekick opens the right screen in Pareto and fills in a draft, and you review and save it. Sidekick doesn't save changes automatically; please confirm and click Save in Pareto. This keeps a human in the loop so nothing goes live by accident.
Example: you type "Create a 15% off offer for my Fashion collection." Sidekick opens the Pareto offer editor, drafts a One discount rule set to 15% off, and asks you to review. You open the draft, check the details, and save it in Pareto.
Before you begin
- Install the Pareto - Quantity Breaks and Discounts app on your Shopify store.
- Make sure Shopify Sidekick is available on your Shopify plan and enabled in your admin.
- Keep both Sidekick and the Pareto app open at the same time. Sidekick drafts the change, but the save happens in Pareto.
Create a discount offer with Sidekick
- Open Shopify Sidekick from your Shopify admin.
- Describe the offer you want, for example "Create a 15% discount on all products."
- Sidekick opens the Offer details screen in Pareto and drafts the rule. By default it creates a One discount offer first, because that is the simplest type that fits most requests.
- Review the Customer gets tab. If you did not ask for free shipping, a free gift, or an order discount, those fields stay empty. Add them only if you need them.
- Click Save on the Offer details screen in Pareto to publish the offer.
Edit an existing offer with Sidekick
- Open the offer you want to change, or tell Sidekick which rule to edit.
- Describe the change, for example "Change rule A to 20% off."
- When the confirmation prompt appears, choose to save rule A after the edit.
- The Offer details screen reloads to show your saved change, so you can confirm the update took effect.
To remove or adjust a free gift, free shipping, or extra discount, open the offer, go to the Tier section, then open the Customer gets tab and edit or clear the field there.
Import and export rules
Sidekick can guide you through importing and exporting your discount rules step by step.

Ask Sidekick about performance
You can ask Sidekick about your discount performance, such as which offers drive the most revenue. Sidekick reads the statistics that Pareto exposes, including post-purchase offers, so top performance answers reflect every offer type.
What Sidekick can and cannot do
- Sidekick drafts and navigates. You review and save inside Pareto.
- Sidekick prioritizes a One discount offer first, then suggests other discount types only when One discount does not fit the request.
- Sidekick points you to the correct setup location for each feature, so boost conversion and other tools open where they belong.
Limitations
- Sidekick cannot save changes for you. You must save every offer inside Pareto.
- You must keep the Pareto app open alongside Sidekick for actions to work.
- Create and edit actions are Phase 1. Some advanced setups may still need to be built manually in Pareto.
