Notify customers when their order is "Out for delivery"
Notify customers when their order is "Out for delivery"
Email delivery customers when their order is on the way — triggered when you mark it "Mark as dispatched" in the Order report.
Overview
This email reassures customers their order is en route. It's sent based on the DingDoong status ("Mark as dispatched"), not Shopify's status.
Before you start
- Your sender email is verified — see Email & notifications overview
- You use the Order report to update statuses.
How to set it up
Here's how, step by step:
Step 1: Verify your sender email
Go to General settings → Email notifications → Verify your email address and confirm via the email we send.
Step 2: Turn on "Out for delivery"
Toggle on the Out for delivery email reminder.

Step 3: Edit content (optional) & preview
Customize the message and preview it.

Step 4: Send a test
Send a demo test to verify formatting.
How it triggers
In the Order report, select the order → Update status → Mark as dispatched. The email sends automatically. The email follows the DingDoong status, not Shopify's.

Common scenarios
Same-day local delivery
Mark orders dispatched as drivers leave so customers know to expect them.
Route batches
Use bulk status update to dispatch and notify a batch of deliveries at once.
